- But obviously it has to be so. You either play in the realm of the OS
- or you play outside. Something in between just causes problems because
- you have to rely on the particular behaviour of the implementation or
- even of a particular machine configuration. This is, by definition,
- incompatible.

- Playing outside however prevents that you use OS services (like HD
- access or support for third party hardware). That's why the only
- acceptable solution is to obey to the rules set by the OS specification.
