  29. Just what exactly does the newicons patch do?

  31. The reason I ask is that I have spent the weekend trying it out and could
  32. find no difference (apart from those awful NewIcon icons!).

  34. I tried different numbers of colours for my screen, different full-colour
  35. backdrops, etc, and there was absolutely no visible difference.

  37. Now, there must be SOMETHING that it does, so my question is, just what would
  38. using the NI patch let me do that I cannot already do?  (Please try to be
  39. specific, rather than "do anythis to your pallete" - I want to understand just
  40. what relevance and advantages the NI hack could offer - if it IS useful, then
  41. I would consider using it but so far, I cannot see any benefit).
