  20. It does. I got some figures from Joanne about BIX subscription.
  21. For me this comes out as follows. Based on 30 hours a month and
  22. including phonecharges etc.

  24. Internet: US$ 22.- a month. Including 30 hours. (and all other stuff)
  25.           extra hours: $.45 an hour.
  26.           Local call : hourly $1 phonecharges [off peak]
  27.  
  28. Bix     : $13 a month. $ 1 per hour. -> 30 hours is $43 a month
  29.           extra hours: $ 1 an hour.
  30.           Non-local  : hourly $3.40 phonecharges [off peak]

  32. Monthly costs. Based on 30 hours. Including phone charges.
  33. InterNet     :    $22. + (30 * $1.-)          = $ 52.-
  34. Bix          :    $43  + (30 * $3.40)         = $145.-
  35. Bix via Inet :    $22 + $43 + (30 * $1.-)     = $ 95.-

  37. According to Joanne BIX does have some bulk hour deals, but she did
  38. not give me the figures for those. Looking at the above, it shows
  39. that for me BIX is almost 3 times as expensive using it's own dialin
  40. and about 45% more expensive using Telnet via my ISP. Which will
  41. probably not allow me to use all the features offered through it's
  42. own dialin.
