  13. This is an update report on the problems with my port of Ghostscript 3.5.3 
  14. running (not) on A4000-040 with Kickstart 3.1, maybe on more machines with 3.1 
  15. and 040's.

  17. It is a problem in one of the math libraries of Kickstart 3.1. To get things 
  18. running one needs the following archive from Aminet
  19. MathPatch.lha        util/boot    3K+Patch for 68040 bug in "mathieeesingbas.

  21. I hope to find the place where GS uses one of the faulty instructions and 
  22. maybe fix the source to work around having YAP in your system.

  24. After I have tackled the printer problems, I'll upload a full set of special 
  25. compiled binaries in single archives, probably replacing the current 
  26. 'gs353bin.lha'.

  28. For anyone without ftp/www access: you can mail me for the patch program, use 
  29. 'PATCH' as subject field, you'll get a reply with 'MathPatch.lha' attached.

  32. For people wanting to recompile GS.
  33. Don't use -msoft-float if your computer has a FPU, sounds stupid todo but 
  34. anyway.
  35. GCC options: -m68040 gives you an executable which works *without* the 
  36. aforementioned patch program.
