- Wanted: Information on "Amigavision" (no #, version which is (or
- was) automatically included with the purchase of any AMIGA in
- Germany in 1990): Handbook says that there is no theoretical limit
- to the size of any application except the contents capability of a
- floppy. This seems to be meant only for people who want to copy their
- applications to a floppy (though you could compress or divide
- applications, couldn't you?) - however, I don't want to copy anything
- anyhow but to a streamer - so this is no problem. But the problem is
- that beyond a size of only about 1.3 MB the SAVE function of the
- program seems to go completely nuts. This means that you invest
- hours and hours in the continuation of the construction of your
- application, you save it (and there is no warning of any kind), but
- afterwards, on reloading, you are surprised to find your application
- subject to a variety of most annoying changes: It might be that the
- system crashes ("software failure: error # 80000004, task
- 070CE798") during the process of loading, or you can load correctly
- but can't open (present) the application any more, or you can even
- present it but find it changed in any non-predictable way (parts of
- the application deleted, Conditional Goto Icons replaced again by
- Placeholder Icons a.s.o.), changes which I'm afraid to say also affect
- parts of the application which you successfully saved weeks or
- months ago! This leads to the fact that on working on big applications
- any single process of SAVING might destroy the work of several
- months. Is there anyone out there who can help, or at least can tell
- me anything about similar experiences with AMIGAVISION?
-
- Second problem: Wanted: Information on IFF-pictures: It seems not
- to be possible to load IFF pictures (being produced e.g. in
- PANORAMA3.0 or stored on any CD-ROM) to DPaintIV (which if I
- was asked I would understand as the substancial reason for the
- existence of IFF anyway). Mind: There is no problem in transferring
- IFF e.g. from SCALA1.1 to DPaintIV. Also there is no warning
- reminder in DPaint, if you try to load from PANORAMA or CD-ROM
- as it usually would appear if you tried to load any incompatible
- format. No, it does load, but any of these IFFs appear just as a purely
- white screen. Anyone, who can give advice?
-
- please email replies. Thanks in advance. Cheers!
