  22. I'm offering you a very easy  and  cheap  service  to  spread  your  new
  23. shareware releases and to search for the old versions  of  your  program
  24. and replace them with the new one.  I've  run  this  service  for  three
  25. scandinavian shareware authors for two months, and as the  feedback  has
  26. been very positive, I've decided   to   expand   the   service   outside
  27. scandinavia.

  30. Here is a rough description of the service I'm offering:

  33.     1. New release -service
  34.     
  35.         For a fee of US$120 per year, I'll take care of spreading  your
  36.         new shareware-releases. Within  48  hours  from  the  moment  I
  37.         receive your release packet, I'll  send  it  to  all  anonymous
  38.         ftp-sites that support the kind of software your program is. At
  39.         the moment, my list of anonymous ftp-sites contains  over  1000
  40.         entries, and it's expanding all the  time.  I'll  also  send  a
  41.         message to a bunch of Usenet news groups  telling  that  a  new
  42.         release of your program  is  available  and  where  it  can  be
  43.         downloaded. When I've completed  the  task,  I'll  send  you  a
  44.         report with a list of all ftp-sites your program has been  sent
  45.         to.

  48.     2. Update -service
  49.     
  50.         For a fee of US$50 (Or  US$20  if  a  New  release-contract  is
  51.         valid.)  I'll   do   a   "deep   scan"   (6   WWW-searches,   6
  52.         Veronica-searches, lookthrough  of  the  10  largest  anonymous
  53.         FTP-sites) and search for old versions of your program. When an
  54.         old version is found, I'll send the new version of your program
  55.         to the site where the "oldie" was  found,  accompanied  with  a
  56.         friendly letter to the administrator asking him to replace  the
  57.         old version with the new one. After all this, I'll send  you  a
  58.         report telling that the task is completed. All this will happen
  59.         within 48 hours from the moment I receive your "order".

  62. NOTICE:        As I'm running my service 100%  MANUALLY  (Phew!),  I'm  not
  63.         able to serve very many clients in order to keep my  promise
  64.         about the 48 hour limit. If you're not in such a hurry,  and
  65.                 like to save a few bucks, the task will be done within  four
  66.                 days, and the prices will be:

  68.         - New release -service: US$108
  69.         - Update -service: US$45
  70.         - Update -service with a valid New release -service: US$18

  73. NOTICE 2:    If your program is for Atari ST, I might  be  interested  in
  74.         doing the work for free, if you give me a registered version
  75.         of your program. This depends completely on the program  and
  76.         on it's registration fee.

  79. NOTICE 3:    Offers like this usually raise a storm  of  protest,  mostly
  80.         because of their "commercial nature",  I  guess.  If  you're
  81.         thinking about  writing  me  a  mail  full  of  four  letter
  82.         words, please pick up your calculator and check out how  big
  83.         your phone bill would be if  you  sent  manually  a  100  KB
  84.         archive to hundreds of ftp-sites. I'm really  not  going  to
  85.         get rich with this system. If you're ready to take  care  of
  86.         this kind of service for free, just mail me  and  I'll  hand
  87.         the "business" over to you!

  90. IMPORTANT:    As it's impossible for me  to  convince  you  that  I'm  not
  91. ~~~~~~~~~~    trying to cheat you, the system works this way: You send  me
  92.         some "registration data" I need to start the  service  (your
  93.         E-mail address, telephone number etc...), and the service is
  94.         active right away. If I  don't  receive  your  "registration
  95.         fee" within two weeks, I'll close the service  until  I  get
  96.         the money. This means, that you have about one week to  test
  97.         me. Also, I'll give you  my  snail-mail  address,  telephone
  98.         number etc., so that  you're  not  "depending"  just  on  my
  99.         e-mail address.
