  23. I cannot tell you how strongly I recommend against doing that other than to say
  24. that six months after you start trying to make it stable and effective and fast
  25. you will probably suicide unless you are in the Ralph Babel levels of
  26. programming abilities or above.

  28. 1) You need board schematics.
  29.  
  30. 2) You need documentation for all the major parts on the board.
  31.  
  32. 3) You need the complete Autodocs and Includes files.
  33.  
  34. 4) You need to carefully read and fully understand the SCSI-2 specification
  35. *AND* its implications for the devices you wish to control.

  37. While the latter two are easily available and the second is fairly easy to get
  38. from parts manufacturers the first one will take you considerable effort to
  39. reverse engineer the board AND the programmable devices on it. Since this is
  40. what makes the board what it is you can almost take it to the bank that GVP or
  41. its successors will not release that information lightly.

  43. What is it you want to do? (If it is SCSI IO with the OS disabled I'd recommend
  44. kissing it off.)
