- I've just released a new version of xpdf, my Portable Document Format
- (PDF) viewer for X.
-
- If you've wanted to look at PDF files, but couldn't because Adobe
- didn't have a viewer for your system, you'll want to check out xpdf.
-
- Instructions are included for setting up netscape to run xpdf when you
- click on a PDF file link.
-
- Binaries are available for:
-
- * Linux (x86)
- * AIX 4.1 (PowerPC)
- * SunOS 4.1 (SPARC)
- * Ultrix 4.4 (MIPS)
- * OSF/1 1.3 (Alpha)
-
- Source (C++ and C) is also available, and it should be fairly easy to
- compile for other UNIX / X systems.
-
- This is an alpha version, so it's still a little buggy.
-
- This version contains a workaround for the Unisys LZW patent.
- LZW-compressed data is converted (without decompressing) to standard
- UNIX compress format, and then uncompress is used to actually do the
- decompression.
-
- More information, source code, and precompiled binaries are at:
