  18. PAL's horizontal resolution is 625 lines as you write. It can vary yes. A VHS
  19. has only 275 lines, and S-VHS and Hi-8 approx. 400 lines. The Betacam SP
  20. comes close to the top resolution and so does the M-II (though they are using
  21. YCrCb signals, not composite or YUV (YC) like resp. VHS and S-VHS). The only
  22. video devices using PAL which have 625 line resolution is the Digital Betacam
  23. and M-III.
