- I have one of these in my A1000 with a homebrew SCSI controller. It has
- only 32K of on-board cache, but it was cheap. New ones are about $210
- U.S. Mine peaks out at about 1.2MB/sec using DiskSpeed 4.1. I would
- expect it to go a bit higher for a better SCSI setup. I would recommend
- going for a Quantum or something else if they are say < $50 more. For my
- setup, this drives is quite okay. I don't have any docs on it and
- wouldn't mind getting some tech info. It runs fairly low power (less than
- my old Quantum Pro105S that it replaced and cost less too. :)
-
- I have extract bits and pieces of ProbeSCSI outputs:
-
- ANSI Approved Version : 2 (ANSI X3.131-1990)
- Wide Bus 16 Support : Not Supported
- Synchronous Transfer : Supported
- Linked Commands : Supported
- Tagged Command Queuing : Not Supported
-
- Number of Blocks 2116800
- Block Size 512 <- Not changable
- Number of Cylinders 2100
- Number of Heads 16
-
- The drive have tiny surface mount dip switch for ID's !! :) Definitely
- beats playing around with metric 5mm jumpers. It uses 2 dip resistor
- packs for termination.
-
- Hope this helps.
