- Hello from San Jose,
-
- I just bought a Samsung Sens 700 dx75 with a noname 14.4 pcmcia modem.
- I have used it on the road (Wyndham hotel, Cerritos,CA), Company offices
- in Commerce, CA, and home in San Jose. All cases phone connection to
- company computer in Santa Clara, CA worked great.
-
- I went to Atlanta, stayed at the Doubletree, a nice new hotel, and could
- connect but couldn't stay connected more than 2 minutes to our computer
- in California. I tried different phones and about 20 different times.
- My associate had a thinkpad (###?) and easily connected to his local ISP
- in Atlanta from the hotel. We didn't get to try connecting him to our
- California Office.
-
- Questions: What should I ask a hotel about their phone system? Is it a
- phone system problem? Are some modems better at handling poor hotel
- phone systems? All phones had data jacks on the side so I believe they
- were intended to work with modems.
-
- Any suggestions would be appreciated.
