Object Desktop Professional
Demo
Version 1.5.2
7 October 1996
(c) 1995-96 Stardock Systems Incpororated
Requirements:
-------------
OS/2 2.11 or later
Intel 486 compatable or higher based PC
8 MB Ram (16MB Recommended)
10 MB HardDrive Space
VGA or higher video support
Mouse or compatable pointing device recommended
Installation:
-------------
To install the software, create a temporary directory, such as C:\TEMP,
on your harddrive and unzip the contents of the zip files (OP152d-1.ZIP
though OP152d-5.ZIP) into that temporary directory. Then run INSTALL.EXE
to install Object Desktop Professional. You will be required to enter a
License Code. Use the License Code (aka Serial Number) that was
provided with your order of Object Desktop Professional. You may
selectively install any component, or uninstall components, and you
can specify the target directory.
Create/Install Diskettes:
---------------------------------
To create diskettes simply unzip each .ZIP file using the -$ parameter,
to a freshly formatted diskette.
Example:
Change Drives: a:
unzip -$ c:\temp\op152-1.zip
Repeat this process for each zip file unzipping each
file to a different diskette.
After you have created the diskettes put disk 1 into the drive and run
INSTALL.EXE to being installation.
Uninstallation:
---------------
The install program contains an uninstall feature, which can be
used to remove the software from your system. Before running
the uninstall process, ensure that the Control Center and Tab
LaunchPad have been closed, and you have disabled the Task
Manager and Keyboard LaunchPad features. If you find the
uninstall procedure fails with a SYS3175 error, or incompletely
removes the software from your system, please reboot your
computer and retry the uninstall process after your system
restarts.
In addition, a manual removal procedure is documented in the
"Object Desktop Professional Read Me First! document" in your
Object Desktop Professional folder.
Special Instructions for OS/2 2.1 Users:
----------------------------------------
Object Desktop Professional has been designed for OS/2 version
2.1 or higher. However, there are several problems fixed by
IBM's OS/2 2.11 Service Pak which are required for using Object
Desktop Professional. Specifically, the Object Desktop
Professional Tab LaunchPad object may hang a OS/2 2.1 system due
to a defect in OS/2. For this reason, we recommend using Object
Desktop Professional with OS/2 2.11 or higher.
Stardock Systems recommends installing the latest Service Pak
offered by IBM for OS/2 2.11, called XR_B098, dated 9/95, if you
are using OS/2 2.11 with Object Desktop Professional.
To take full advantage of all the features in Object Desktop
Professional, the use of the OS/2 Warp family of products is
required.
