  1. We are sorry but there is no decent namual for XVIEW yet.
  2. For the time being trial and error is the only way to find out about 
  3. what XVIEW can do.
  4. Here we only provide an explanation for the data file formats
  5. accepted by XVIEW.

  7. IMPORTANT!!!!!:

  9. The file types are being recognized !!!by extensions!!!.

  12. *.raw - Siemens binary data (old style, not RAW2!!)
  13. *.rd  - Phillips binary data
  14. *.rit - DBWS laboratory X-ray raw data 
  15. *.dat - ASCII x-y (or angle - counts) two-column data. The step is being assumed 
  16.         constant and equal to the difference of the 2theta's ofthe first two
  17.         data points. All the other 2theta's are being ignored.
  18. *.neu - ASCII multi couter constant wavelength neutron data
  19. *.ex$ - versatile ASCII free format (see explanation below)

  22. For those who wish to run XVIEW from Windows(TM) ;-) two icons are included
  23. in the distribution kit.

  27. The comments written after the semi-colon (;) must not appear in the real 
  28. data files. Complete data files in several formats are provided in 
  29. the distribution kit.

  34. Mo0 ; Anode material or wavelength, Mo0 means molybdenum Ka1+Ka2, Cu1 means copper Ka1 e.t.c. 2.466 means wavelength in Angstroems
