  1. PRIMEOS2.EXE

  3. This is the OS/2 version of the Mersenne prime program by George
  4. Woltman.  
  5.  
  6. Version 3.3.1 contains the functionality of the 18.1.2 version of
  7. George's program for Linux (mprime). It has full PRIMENET support
  8. (including the proxy-support with or without basic authentication). 
  9. For more information see the readme.txt and whatsnew.txt files of the 
  10. Linux version included in this archive.

  12. NOTE for those upgrading from a previos version.
  13. The menu items have changed numbers because of the new Testing/ECM
  14.

  19.     All users of PRIMEOS2 3.2.x should upgrade to this version since it
  20.     corrects a serious bug in the LL testsing code.

  73. OS/2 WARP or newer is required.

  78. To determine whether a network is available I am using the HOST
  79. utility, which is part of the OS/2 network software. I assume it to be
  80. in the PATH. If this does not work at your site, please contact me.

  82. The setting of priorities has been changed and is now equivalent to
  83. the Linux version.  Priorities range from 1-10. Priorities 1-9 all run
  84. in IDLE_TIME priority with the 'delta' evenly distributed between 1
  85. and 31. Priority 10 is REGULAR priority, the default priority for
  86. programs on OS/2. Unless you have a good reason leave the priority on
  87. 1, this guarantees the least intereference with normal operation. Note
  88. that changing the priority is only effective until after a restart of
  89. the program.
