---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the DEMO version, the following functions are either not implemented
or limited in scope:
Projects Module
- Maximum of 20 tasks (which can be allocated to different projects).
Print Subsystem
- The Print Subsystem superimposes "Demo version" over each displayed
and printed page.
User Access Control Subsystem
- Although the program is fully functional, the DEMO version is a single-user
version, and any access privileges assigned have no effect.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Network
-------
OPUS is compatible with most PC networks. You can install ALL or only
special components somewhere in the network and execute them from there.
During installation and and execution of OPUS you have to obey to the following
rules:
- The user must be logged on the network.
- The user MUST have ALL accessrights to the networkdirectory to change his
files.
CAUTION:The single user licence has network capabilities, however, ist supports
NO locking mechanisms for files or database records!!! If you like to
install OPUS for more than one user, there is a multiuser licence
available.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
National language support
-------------------------
OPUS uses the systemsettings of OS/2 for displaying dates, numbers,
currencies, etc. You will find these settings in the folder
systemconfiguration/country on your OS/2 desktop. If you change any settings
according to your needs OPUS will recognize the changes after restarting
the software.
The internal calender function is currently set to display Sunday as the
first day of the week. You can change these settings to have the week start
on Monday. Go to Configuration/Working hours and change the settings.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Accessadministration
--------------------
Please note that there are significant differencies between the single user
licence and the multiuser licence regarding the accessadministration.
Changes to accessrights have no effect in the single user version.
- How to change the accessright is visable in the program for the
accessrights, however, they have no effect in the single user version.
After installation the valid user-id and password is OPUS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Database with example
---------------------
During installation you can decibe wether or not you wnt to install the
database with the example. The default path for this databes is OPUS\DBDEMO.
using CONFIGURATION you can tell OPUS where to find this database:
1. Open CONFIGURATION/OPTIONS
2. Write down the pathname of your working database. Type in the full
pathname of your example database.
3. Restart OPUS
You are now working with the example database. If you want to go back to your
working database just follow steps 1-3 by using the path you wrote dwn in the
first step
CAUTION After you have changed the path to your database and before you put
in your data you should make sure that you are working with the correct
database. Check the entry in CONFIGURATION/OPTIONS for the database
pathname!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Special hints for the usage
---------------------------
OPUS requires a mouse.
In graphical displays (calendar or diagrams) you often can make changes or
get extra informations by double clicking with the mouse.
All data from OPUS are stored in a dBASE-compatible database. Here you
can find all data for all projects. Therefore OPUS supports multiple projects
for workgroups in a network. Note that administaring a big number of projects
in a network can lead to long responsetimes. This is a technical matter and a
tribute to the support of multiple projects.
You navigate through OPUS with
- menubar
- icons
- context sensitive menus
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
For your personal usage there is a single user version available with reduced
functionality. This product is called OPUS PERSONAL PLANNER.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
For prices for both versions of OPUS ask your local representative.
