ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. General Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
ENVELOGO is a quick and simple way of producing an addressed envelope with your
logo on it. The program relies on having a template file on disk that it can
quickly dump out to the printer, while just inserting the desired destination
address.
For detailed general information about ENVELOGO for OS/2, see:
ENVELOGO for OS/2 User Manual.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Envelogo Main Window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The ENVELOGO main window shows the address to be used for the destination of
your envelope, and the envelope type or style that will be produced.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1. File Menu ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This pulldown menu selection gives access to a submenu with the following
choices:
Change setup
Save changes
Exit
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1.1. Change Setup ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the "File"/"Change setup" menu selection to access a submenu of possible
changes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1.1.1. Set Default Envelope... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
When you start the program, a default envelope type will always appear in the
Envelope Type field in the main window. This is the envelope type which will
be used for printing an envelope, unless someone selects a different envelope
from the selection list. Clicking on the "File"/"Change setup"/"Set default
envelope" menu selection causes a window to appear to allow you to choose a
different envelope type to be used as a default when the program starts up.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1.1.2. Add Envelope Type... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Clicking on the "File"/"Change setup"/"Add envelope type" allows you to add a
new envelope template to your list of envelope types.
First, a "file dialog" box will appear, to allow you to enter the file name and
path of the template file. Then you will have a chance to select a name for
this new type of envelope.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1.1.3. Delete Envelope Type... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Selecting the "File"/"Change setup"/"Delete envelope type" menu item will cause
a list to appear, from which you can select the name of the envelope type that
you wish to delete.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1.2. Saving Program Settings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The program can remember certain default settings selected by the user, from
one session to the next. The settings are:
the Auto-Minimize checkbox
the Auto-Close checkbox
the list of Envelope Types
Any time you wish to save the default settings that the program uses when it
starts up, select the "File"/"Save changes" menu item. This causes the default
settings to be written to the initialization file on disk.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1.3. Program Exit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the "File"/"Close" menu selection to terminate the ENVELOGO program.
Alternately, you could click on "Close" in the "System Menu", or double-click
on the icon in the top lefthand corner of the ENVELOGO window.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.8. Reminder Entry Field ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Any handy reminder can go here, dealing with how to insert the envelope into
the printer, or whatever is helpful. You may type anything into this field,
and use the menu sequence "File" / "Save Changes" to save the new reminder
field.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.9. Selecting Envelope Type ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The envelope type which will be used for the current envelope shows in the top
field. To select a different envelope type, expand the box by clicking on the
arrow at the right-hand end of the box, and click on the envelope type desired.
If all envelope types are not visible in the box, use the vertical scroll bar.

sure that you have selected the desired envelope type, and that the address
fields are correct.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.14. Auto-Minimize After Printing ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
If this checkbox is selected (has a checkmark in it), ENVELOGO will minimize
itself to an icon after printing an envelope. Use the "Save Changes" selection
in the "File" menu if you wish to save the state of this checkbox as the
default.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.15. Auto-Close After Printing ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
If this checkbox is selected (has a checkmark in it), ENVELOGO will terminate
after printing the envelope. Select "Save Changes" in the "File" menu if you
wish to save the state of this checkbox as a default.

been specified.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6.1. Envelope Type Name ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter a name for the envelope type you are adding. You may make the name

Business Envelope" would be an acceptable name.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6.2. Add New Envelope Type ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
If you are sure you have entered the correct template file, and a name for

are adding. If some of the text is hidden, you may click on the text to
"focus" on it, and then use the left and right scroll keys to move the text.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Definitions. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Template file
Initialization file
Envelope type
Default envelope type
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7.1. Template file ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The template file is an exact copy of the data which must be sent to your
printer to print a particular style or type of envelope. In addition, in the
template file, a dummy address, or placeholder, which in fact consists merely
of six lines of "aaa" (without the quotes), shows ENVELOGO where the address
lines should be inserted.
The user can select from a number of templates, if a choice between different
envelope formats are desired.
The template file can be created with many editor programs, or most desktop
publishing programs.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7.2. Initialization file ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
When ENVELOGO starts up, it looks for its initialization file, called
ENVELOGO.INI. This file contains data about the default settings you prefer
for ENVELOGO, and a list of the envelope types you use.
When using ENVELOGO for the first time, it will not find this file. This is
normal, and it will create one.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7.3. Envelope type ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You may create different envelope types, or styles. For example, you may have
one style for your personal use, and another for your business. You may have
one that says "Air Mail" on it, or any other variations you desire. You may
have one for standard size business envelopes, and another for the smaller
personal envelopes.
This is accomplished by simply storing a different template file for each
desired type of envelope.
Each time you print an envelope, you can select the desired type of envelope
from a listbox.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7.4. Default envelope type ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The default envelope type is the one which is automatically selected when the
ENVELOGO program starts up. The default envelope type will always be located
at the top of the list of envelope types.

counted, an error message is generated.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8.7. Missing INI File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
When ENVELOGO starts up, it looks for its initialization file, called

file. This is normal, and it will create one.
If you get this message when you expect that an INI file should already exist,
you may terminate the program and look for a problem. The INI file should be
in the same directory as the ENVELOGO.EXE file.

remembered from one session to the next. If you elect not to save the changes,
you can always save them later in the session by selecting "Save Changes" in
the "File" menu in the main window. If you do not save the changes, they will
be in effect only during this session, and next time you run ENVELOGO the
previous default values will be used.
