This is the documentation for the RhinoCom Home Demo Install program.
The RhinoCom Home Demo is a full-featured version of the RhinoCom Home
product. It is crippled only by limiting the length of each individual
session and the overall time that the Demo may be used. Once the comport is
opened, you have fifteen minutes of time (we won't disconnect during a
download/upload) in that session. A total time of three hours is allowed for
running the RhinoCom Home Demo.
We expect to upgrade this Demo periodically. If the date listed above is
more than six months old, you might want to check for a later version. Our
web page (http://www.rhintek.com/rhintek) and BBS ( 301-596-5618 ) will be
sure to have them.
After installing, see README.TXT in your RhinoCom directory for ordering
and product information.

Section I: Install Notes
Section II: Installation Instructions
Section III: Updating from Earlier Versions
==========
Section I: Install Notes
Before you begin installing RhinoCom we would like to tell you about what
changes the Install program will make to your system:
1. We create two new Workplace Objects. This means that two new templates
will be placed in your Templates folder: Rhinodex and Rhino. These templates
can be used to create new instances of both objects.
2. We make a main RhinoCom directory (the default is \RHINOCOM) and several
subdirectories on the drive to which you install. The RhinoCom files will
then be placed in these directories.
3. We change the user INI file to reflect Rhino's presence on the system.
4. We put a RhinoCom Folder on your Desktop (can be moved after install).
5. We WILL NOT change the CONFIG.SYS or SYSTEM.INI files.
Some additional notes about the Install program:
1. Installing more than once, or installing over old versions, does not cause
any problems. (see Section III for details)
2. Uninstall capability is included in the install program to remove all
traces of RhinoCom from your system.
==========
Section II: Installation Instructions
There are separate instructions for installing via PM versus an OS/2 window.
PM method:
1. Open the Drives object on your Desktop. If there isn't one, you will find
it by opening the OS/2 System object.
2. Open the object for the drive in which you placed the distribution
diskette.
3. Open INSTALL.EXE either by double-clicking it, or by right-clicking it and
choosing Open from the context menu.
OS/2 window method:
1. Open an OS/2 Command Window. If there isn't one, you will find one by
opening the OS/2 System object, then opening the Command Prompts folder.
2. At the command prompt, type the letter of the drive in which you placed the
distribution diskette, followed by a colon. Press Enter.
3. Type INSTALL and press Enter.
Installation will not actually begin without your say-so, and you will have
numerous opportunities to stop the installation before it makes any changes to
your system.
==========
Section III: Updating from Earlier Versions
If you have a beta version of RhinoCom, you must completely uninstall before
loading this Demo. No objects can be saved, but you may save your .rcf
files, then rebuild the Rhino objects once the install is finished.
If you currently have a production version of RhinoCom, use Upgrade to update
the files and the Workplace Shell objects. Upgrading will save any current
Rhinos and Rhinodexes you have, but will migrate them to the new objects
(optimized for Warp). If you would like to move RhinoCom, you must first
uninstall the old version and reinstall in the new place.
NOTE: Currently, the individual icons for Rhinos and Rhinodexes are not
migrated.
Running two versions of RhinoCom on the same machine is not advised.

Thanks again, and enjoy!
