  9. PMZIP(TM) is a ZIP file manager for the OS/2 Presentation Manager.
  10. It features:
  11.  
  12. - An SAA/CUA compatible interface for adding, deleting, extracting,
  13.   and viewing members of a ZIP file
  14. - Extensive online hypertext help (press F1 at any time)
  15. - A multi-selection list box with the names, sizes, and date/time stamps
  16.   of files in a ZIP file
  17. - Push buttons for most commonly used actions
  18. - A file search facility to locate selected ZIP files anywhere on a disk
  19. - Easy installation
  20. - Support for the OS/2 1.20 and 1.30 File Manager's drag and drop interface
  21. - All options (including screen size and position) can be saved and restored
  22.  
  23. PMZIP is distributed as Shareware.  This means that users are
  24. encouraged, subject to restrictions described in the License Agreement,
  25. to share copies of this program with friends, associates and bulletin
  26. boards.  Please remember that if you use this software you are required
  27. to pay the registration fee of $25 as described in the License
  28. Agreement.

  33. - The OS/2 versions of the PKWARE, Inc. PKZIP and PKUNZIP programs.
  34.   PKZIP and PKUNZIP are registered trademarks of PKWARE, inc.
  35.   They can be obtained from most bulletin board systems or ordered
  36.   directly from PKWARE (phone 414-352-3670).

  47. *** Installation:
  48.  
  49. Follow these steps for an easy installation:
  50.  
  51. 1) If you already have installed a previous version of PMZIP, delete all
  52. files in your PMZIP directory.  Otherwise create a directory to hold the
  53. PMZIP related files.  For example, "C:\PMZIP".
  54.  
  55. 2) Copy all PMZIP-related files to this directory.  At a minimum you
  56. need the following files:  PMZIP.EXE, PMZIP.HLP, and PMZIP.DLL. Note:
  57. there is no need to include the directory containing PMZIP related files
  58. in your LIBPATH= or HELP= paths.
  59.  
  60. 3) Run PMZIP.EXE, either by double clicking on PMZIP.EXE in the File
  61. Manager or by entering PMZIP at the the OS/2 system prompt.  The first
  62. time you run PMZIP it will bring up the Install dialog box to complete
  63. the installation.
  64.  
  65. Optional installation steps:
  66.  
  67. a) Add the directory created in step one to your PATH.  If you don't add
  68. the directory to your path, you'll need to type the directory name when
  69. you start PMZIP from the command line (for example, you'll have to type
  70. "C:\PMZIP\PMZIP" rather than just "PMZIP").
  71.  
  72. b) Add the statement "PMZIP /ICON" to your STARTUP.CMD file. This will
  73. automatically start PMZIP as an icon whenever you boot OS/2, and
  74. facilitates use of the File Manager's Drag and Drop Interface.
  75.  
  76. *** Starting PMZIP
  77.  
  78. After you've installed PMZIP, the most common ways to start the program
  79. are:
  80.  
  81. 1) To open an existing ZIP file from the File Manager, double click on
  82. the ZIP file.
  83.  
  84. 2) To add files to an existing ZIP file, select one or more files in the
  85. File Manager, hold down mouse button two, drag the file(s) over a PMZIP
  86. window or icon, and release the mouse button.  NOTE:  you should drop
  87. files over a copy of PMZIP that is running, not over an icon in a
  88. Desktop Manager Program Group window.
  89.  
  90. 3) To add files to a new ZIP file, use the procedure for adding files to
  91. an existing ZIP file, but be sure to specify the filename in the dialog
  92. box displayed when you "drop" files onto a running copy of PMZIP.
  93.  
  94. Alternately, you can start PMZIP by double clicking on the PMZIP icon in
  95. the "Group - Main" window or from the OS/2 command line by entering the
  96. PMZIP.EXE command.  Similarly you can open new or existing ZIP files
  97. with the "New" and "Open" entries in the "File" pull-down menu.
