ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Using Soundpad ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Soundpad 1.0 allows you to record notes and reminders with a microphone, using
OS/2's multimedia capabilities (which must be installed for Soundpad to run).
Notes can be configured to pop up automatically at a given time.
Press Record to create a new note. OS/2's Digital Audio recorder will appear.
Use it like a genuine tape recorder to make your note, then choose save (not
save as) from its file menu and close the recorder.
You now have the option of giving your note a name or providing time and date
settings for it. If you press Set a window will open for you to enter the date
(dd mm) and time (hh mm) for a reminder to be activated. If your note serves
another purpose (i.e. it doesn't require the alarm function), press Name.
Again, a window will appear, where you should enter a one word title for the note.
NOTE: You can only allocate a particular time and date to one note. If more
than one note ist to be opened at - say - 16.00, space them a minute apart
(i.e. 15.58, 15.59 and 16.00).
Pressing Notes opens a browser which lists all the notes in Soundpad's
directory. You can open a note and listen to it from this window, or delete notes.
The Watcher button activates the alarm function watcher.exe which you'll
probably want to minimize. It keeps its eye on the time and date to determine
whether any of your notes are scheduled - and open them at the appropriate
moment. If programs are included in the autostart statement of your config.sys
the watcher will be run every time you load OS/2.
