  5. This is the second beta of OpalCD. This is a new application developed from the ground up.
  6. The original beta used string commands to send commands to the Multimedia subsystem. This
  7. new version uses command messages which adds some functionality to the CD player. This
  8. overhaul of the original program took me some time to finish. I'm trying to balance this
  9. project with my daily life, so progress sometimes may be slow but steady. Be patient.

  11. Programming still is not implemented. I have some ideas on how complex programming should be.
  12. For example I wanted to add drag/drop to the programming dialog instead of of a simple list
  13. box aproach. In addition I would like to add full programability, by this I mean to be able
  14. to especify a starting and ending time for each track within the track and to be able to
  15. especify the starting and ending volume for each track segment. This could be usefull in
  16. automated presentations.

  18. The rest of the CD player remains almost the same. The Repeat CD, Shuffle CD, Track Intro,
  19. and CD Drive select remains the same. The CD Drive select button is not yet implemented.
  20. The Progress bar and Volume bar are fully functional. The size of the CD player window
  21. changed a little in order to accomodate for an additional buttons. The size of the player
  22. is optimized for resolutions over 800X600 using 640x480 makes the CD player look a little bit
  23. large. This size issue will be addressed in furure versions.

  25. Known bugs.

  27. * Sometimes when OpalCD is started you get a sharing violation. This is due to timing between
  28. threads. Starting OpalCD without a disk will avoid this error. Either case just restart the
  29. program.

  31. * Repainting sometimes is slow.

  33. * Playing CD's with 50 tracks or more ( if they exist ) could result in unpredictable
  34. results.
