BEFORE using MIDI Station please read the following directions carefully:
In order to use MIDI Station you MUST install the MIDI.SYS driver included in this
release. This driver is actually an updated version of the one that comes with
OS/2 Warp 4. This updated driver is available now on the IBM DDPak website
and may be included in a future FixPack. You may want to look at Timur Tabi's webpage
for further information at www.io.com/~timur/rtmidi.htm.
This driver fixes some serious problems with the Warp 4 GA version pertaining to sending
system -exclusive MIDI messages. So it is IMPERATIVE that you do the following:
1) In your MMOS2 directory rename MIDI.SYS to MIDI.BAK
2) Copy the MIDI.SYS file included here to your MMOS2 directory
3) Reboot your machine - Important
4) Run install.cmd to install MIDI Station.
5) Enjoy!
Note: If you do not follow the above directions your machine will probably hang and/or
Trap forcing a hard reboot of your machine when using MIDI Station. It's that
serious.
Note: Be sure to read the section in the INF file on configuring your soundcard to work
with RTMIDI. There are some tips on how to get even a non-RTMIDI compliant
soundcard to work by using IBM'S MPU-401 driver. Also read the text file RTMIDI.TXT.
