  4.                                 ALBATROS CD Player

  6.  ALBATROS CD Player is a Compact Disk Player which will allow you to play your 
  7.  Compact Audio Disks. 
  8.  
  9.  Well, here it is: a CD Player for OS/2 2.1. Though there is already a CD 
  10.  Player in the MMPM/2 Package, I wanted to have a CD Player that is a bit more 
  11.  fancy, a Friend of mine wanted a Volume Knob, some others wanted a LCD Display 
  12.  and so on..

  56.  ALBATROS CD PLAYER requires the following :

  58.      PC Running OS/2 2.1 with MMPM/2 installed (I do not know if it will work 
  59.      with OS/2 2.0 an MMPM/2 installed) 
  60.      a CD Player supported by MMPM/2 
  61.      The installed Vector Font HELVETICA I use it often! If you do not have it 
  62.      installed, some Fonts WILL look crappy.

  68.  mine is a lot cheaper..)

  91.   You will not be able to see any type of menu on the top of the screen, 
  92.  therefore you will have to use the POPUP Menu on your Right Mouse Button to 
  93.  select your Menu choices. Here you can choose several things :

  95.      OPTIONS

  97.  This is where to choose all the settings and options for your CD Player. 
  98.  Here you can also enter Titles, select Programs, etc .

  100.      PROGRAM

  102.  Here you will find another submenu showing you all the Programming Options of 
  103.  your CD Player.

  105.      NONE 
  106.  
  107.  This means, No Program is active. Use whenever yuo want to select tracks by 
  108.  yourself.

  110.      REPEAT TRACK

  112.  The CD PLAYER will continuously play the current track.

  114.  'Repeating Track' will also be displayed in the Main Program Window.

  116.      REPEAT DISK

  118.  The CD PLAYER will continuously play the Disk from the first to the last

  123.      REPEAT SEQUENCE

  125.  The CD PLAYER will continuously play a piece of your title. The DIRECT 
  126.  Selection Value Set will be Disabled. To choose the beginning of the sequence 
  127.  press the Button [ To choose the end of the sequence press the Button [ which 
  128.  will be available only after [ was pressed.

  130.  The active sequence to play will be displayed in the main window.

  132.      RANDOM PLAY

  136.  'Playing Random' will also be displayed in the Main Program Window.

  138.      INTRO PLAY

  140.  This will play the tracks on your CD from the first track to the last track 
  141.  for a selectable amount of seconds (usually 15 sec, but you will be able to 
  142.  choose that) After all tracks have been played, the player will stop and jump 
  143.  back to track 1.

  145.  'INTRO PLAY' will be displayed in the Main Program Window.

  147.      PROGRAM PLAY

  149.  Here you will be able to play all the tracks chosen in the Program Setup

  155. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1. Display Elements ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  157.  This is the main Display of ALBATROS, where you will find various Information 
  158.  about you Compact Disk, the active Track and so on.

  160.  This will inform you about the active track, as well as the minutes and 
  161.  seconds already played from this track. 
  162.  
  163.  This will inform you about the maximum minutes and seconds of the selected 
  164.  track as well as the maximum number of tracks on your CD. 
  165.  
  166.  This will show you the Title of the CD (TOP) as well as the Title of the 
  167.  active Track (BOTTOM).

  169.  In case "DISPLAY ARTIST" was selected in the options setup, you will see where 
  170.  the Artist is on the LEFT (Mozart), the Title of the CD (Super Classix) is on 
  171.  the RIGHT side and the Title of the Track is Below (Hornkonzert).

  173.  The display of title or the display of the track may also be turned off in the 
  174.  Settings page of the notebook.

  176.  This will inform you about the active program. If you haven't selected a 
  177.  program, you will not see anything displayed here.

  179.      Font Files 
  180.  There are three different Font Files . The so called CLASSIC

  182.  the MODERN

  186.  All Fonts may be selected at the Options dialog, Page OPTIONS-FONTS.

  192.                PLAY Button 
  193.  Pressing play by itself plays track 1 to the end of the disc. Pressing after a 
  194.  number was entered at the Number pad plays that track number to the end of 
  195.  disc. Pressing PLAY with pause active resumes play at the current position. 
  196.  Pressing PLAY with random play actice will randomly play tracks from your CD. 
  197.  
  198.                PAUSE Button 
  199.  Pressing pause will stop audio playback at the current position. 
  200.  
  201.  When you have pressed PAUSE, the Button will be displayed in a lower State 
  202.  indicating Pause pressed. You can now either press Pause again, which will 
  203.  cause the Pause Button to be displayed in the normal state. You can now press 
  204.  STOP, which will cancel pause and Stop the current Track or you can press 
  205.  PLAY, which will also cancel PAUSE and continue playing the current Track.

  208.  Pressing stop will stop audio playback and seek head to the beginning of the 
  209.  track .

  211.                SKIP UP 
  212.  Pressing skip up will advance playback to next track.

  219.  Pressing search up will increase current playback by five seconds. Pressing 
  220.  search down will decrease current playback by five seconds.

  223.  Pressing eject will cause CD disc to be ejected from the drive.

  225.  If there is no Audio Disc in the CD Player, you will see the following screen:

  228.  Pressing this Button will toggle the Music on or off.

  230.                Volume 
  231.  Turning this Button will Change the Volume of the CD PLAYER. The Volume Knob 
  232.  may not work correctly with Audio Headphones connected to the front of your CD 
  233.  Player on some CD Players (Hardware Problem). Instead, use the internal 
  234.  connectors (CINCH Connectors) to connect the CD Player to your Stereo or to 
  235.  your Soundblaster Card.

  237.                Number Pad 
  238.  By double-clicking on a number of the Number Pad you can directly choose the 
  239.  corresponding Track of your CD.

  241.  In case PROGRAM PLAY is selected, this Valueset will display the active 
  242.  Program.

  292.  Here you can enter Title Information of the inserted CD. This Information will 
  293.  be saved to a file ALBATROS.INI in your Albatros Directory. This information 
  294.  is loaded every Time you insert the Compact Disk.

  296.  In case you haven't entered any information for your CD, you will not see any 
  297.  information displayed.

  299.      CD Title 
  300.  Here you can enter the Titel of your Compact Disk. This Title will be 
  301.  displayed at the Top of the Container.

  304.  Select a Track first, then you can here enter the Titel of the selected Track. 
  305.  It will be automatically be inserted in the container.

  307.      Artist 
  308.  Select a Track first, then you can here enter the Name of the Artist. This is 
  309.  useful for mixed CD's where every Title has it's own Artist. This will be 
  310.  automatically be inserted in the container. p. Drag and Drop Editing 
  311.  Editing Title and Track information can be made a lot easier with Drag and 
  312.  Drop. For this you will have to prepare a file (any name you like, it is HPFS 
  313.  aware, but has to have the ending *.ALB) which has the following format :

  340.  file will cause an Error Message, and the file will not be imported. If you 
  341.  have prepared the File, you can drag it from the Drives object container (Icon 
  342.  View, Details View, etc) and drop it on a space next to the Titles container, 
  343.  when you see the appropriate Drag+Drop icon displayed. The file may also be 
  344.  dropped on the main display (see below). See also the File IMPORT.ALB as a 
  345.  template for writing your own Files.
