ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. General Help for XY-Query Install ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Panel ID = 100.
Use this dialog to install XY-Query on your computer.
Source Directory Enter the directory from which XY-Query will be installed.
Destination directory Enter the directory where you wish to install XY-Query.
Install Product Files Selecting this box will install all of the product files
to the named destination directory. This box should only be
un-selected if you are re-installing XY-Query to restore it to
the desktop and the product files are already installed.
Update Desktop and Configuration Selecting this box will add the XY-Query
folder to the desktop. This box should only be un-selected if
you wish to install the XY-Query files without adding the
product to the desktop.
OK Click on this to install XY-Query.
Cancel Click on this to exit without installing XY-Query.
Help Display this help.
Note: Command Line Options are available to assist with CID and remote
installation, and starting installation from another program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Command Line Options For XY-Query Installation. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The following command line parameters are available for installing XY-Query The
format is
[DrivePath]XYQINST [options]
where [] shows optional items
e.g.
a:\XYQINST -aY -cY -Pn
where options are from the following list. Note that order does not matter,
and that the parameters are case insensitive. Also, parameters may start with a
'-' or a '/'.
-tTargetDir Directory to install into. Default is XYQPATH variable if
set, otherwise its c:\xyquery
-sSourceDir Directory to install from. Default is directory XYQINST is
executing from.
-p[Y|N] Install program files. Default is -pY.
-d[Y|N] Install desktop icons. Default is -dY.
-c[Y|N] Modify config.sys. Default is -cY.
-i[N|Y] Autostarted, invisible install. Do not show dialog if -aY.
Show it if -aN. Default is -aN
-a[N|Y] Autostarted visible install, dialog is visible. Install
button is auto pressed. Reccomend use with -fY. Note: -aY
is mutually exclusive with -iY. If you use both, -iY takes
precedence.
-f[N|Y] Freeze panel. This is only effective if -aN is used. -fY
prevents the user from modifying the installation options
on the panel. The only available user options are the
Install, Cancel and Help pushbuttons. Default is -fN.
-vwWorkDir Specify the work dir. If directory name starts with a \ or
a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as
specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a
subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Work.
-vmTempDir Specify the temp dir. If directory name starts with a \ or
a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as
specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a
subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Temp.
-vtTemplatesDir Specify the templates dir. If directory name starts with a
\ or a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as
specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a
subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Templates.
-vsSamplesDir Specify the samples dir. If directory name starts with a \
or a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as
specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a
subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Samples.
-remove This will cause a full deletion of XY-Query. The following
options will also work when -remove is specified. All
others are ignored.
-vwWorkDir
-vmTempDir
-vtTemplatesDir
-vsSamplesDir
-tTargetDir
-a[N|Y]
-f[N|Y]

Panel ID = 8.
Enter the directory from which XY-Query will be installed.

Panel ID = 4.
Enter the directory where you wish XY-Query to be installed.

Panel ID = 120.
Selecting this box will install all of the product files to the named
destination directory. This box should only be un-selected if you are
re-installing XY-Query to restore it to the desktop and the product files are
already installed.

Panel ID = 130.
Selecting this box will add the XY-Query folder to the desktop. This box should
only be un-selected if you wish to install the XY-Query files without adding
the product to the desktop.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.5. Help for OK ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Panel ID = 1.
Click on this to install XY-Query.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.6. Help for Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Panel ID = 2.
Click on this to exit the dialog with no changes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Help For Insert Next Diskette ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Panel ID = 300.
This dialog prompts you to insert the next XY-Query diskette. In this release
of XY-Query this is diskette number 2. You should firstly remove diskette 1
which is currently in the diskette drive and replace it with diskette 2, then
press the Continue button.
You may abort installation at this point if you wish to by pressing the Cancel
button. You will then be asked if you require all files installed so far to be
removed. If you then say Yes they'll be removed. If instead you opt for Cancel
you will return to this panel, but if you opt for No your XY-Query will be left
as it was, half installed, and will probably not work unless you were
re-installing the current release of XY-Query.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. General Help for Remove XY-Query ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Panel ID = 200.
Use this dialog to remove XY-Query. You will not be allowed to remove XY-Query
if it was not properly installed - for example, if your CONFIG.SYS file was not
properly set. An error message will help you identify this problem.
If you try to remove XY-Query while it is running, you will receive a warning
message asking you to confirm the removal.
Current XY-Query Installation Location Shows the drive and directory where
XY-Query is installed.
Remove Click on this to remove XY-Query.
Cancel Click on this to exit without removing XY-Query.
Help Display this help.

Panel ID = 220.
This field shows the drive and directory where XY-Query is installed.
This field can not be changed.

Panel ID = 210.
Click on this to remove XY-Query.
