  4. Panel ID = 100.

  6. Use this dialog to install XY-Query on your computer. 
  7.  
  8. Source Directory Enter the directory from which XY-Query will be installed. 
  9.  
  10. Destination directory Enter the directory where you wish to install XY-Query. 
  11.  
  12. Install Product Files Selecting this box will install all of the product files 
  13.                to the named destination directory. This box should only be 
  14.                un-selected if you are re-installing XY-Query to restore it to 
  15.                the desktop and the product files are already installed. 
  16.  
  17. Update Desktop and Configuration Selecting this box will add the XY-Query 
  18.                folder to the desktop. This box should only be un-selected if 
  19.                you wish to install the XY-Query files without adding the 
  20.                product to the desktop. 
  21.  
  22. OK             Click on this to install XY-Query. 
  23.  
  24. Cancel         Click on this to exit without installing XY-Query. 
  25.  
  26. Help           Display this help.

  28. Note:  Command Line Options are available to assist with CID and remote 
  29. installation, and starting installation from another program.

  34. The following command line parameters are available for installing XY-Query The 
  35. format is 
  36.  
  37.    [DrivePath]XYQINST [options]
  38.  
  39. where [] shows optional items
  40.  
  41. e.g.
  42.    a:\XYQINST -aY -cY -Pn
  43.  
  44.  where options are from the following list. Note that order does not matter, 
  45. and that the parameters are case insensitive. Also, parameters may start with a 
  46. '-' or a '/'. 
  47.  
  48. -tTargetDir         Directory to install into. Default is XYQPATH variable if 
  49.                     set, otherwise its c:\xyquery 
  50.  
  51. -sSourceDir         Directory to install from. Default is directory XYQINST is 
  52.                     executing from. 
  53.  
  54. -p[Y|N]             Install program files. Default is -pY. 
  55.  
  56. -d[Y|N]             Install desktop icons. Default is -dY. 
  57.  
  58. -c[Y|N]             Modify config.sys. Default is -cY. 
  59.  
  60. -i[N|Y]             Autostarted, invisible install. Do not show dialog if -aY. 
  61.                     Show it if -aN. Default is -aN 
  62.  
  63. -a[N|Y]             Autostarted visible install, dialog is visible. Install 
  64.                     button is auto pressed. Reccomend use with -fY. Note: -aY 
  65.                     is mutually exclusive with -iY. If you use both, -iY takes 
  66.                     precedence.

  68. -f[N|Y]             Freeze panel. This is only effective if -aN is used. -fY 
  69.                     prevents the user from modifying the installation options 
  70.                     on the panel. The only available user options are the 
  71.                     Install, Cancel and Help pushbuttons. Default is -fN.

  73. -vwWorkDir          Specify the work dir. If directory name starts with a \ or 
  74.                     a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as 
  75.                     specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a 
  76.                     subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Work.

  78. -vmTempDir          Specify the temp dir. If directory name starts with a \ or 
  79.                     a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as 
  80.                     specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a 
  81.                     subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Temp.

  83. -vtTemplatesDir     Specify the templates dir. If directory name starts with a 
  84.                     \ or a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as 
  85.                     specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a 
  86.                     subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Templates.

  88. -vsSamplesDir       Specify the samples dir. If directory name starts with a \ 
  89.                     or a drive:, e.g. E:, then this directory is used as 
  90.                     specified. If it does not start this way it is taken as a 
  91.                     subdirectory of the target directory. Default is Samples.

  93. -remove             This will cause a full deletion of XY-Query. The following 
  94.                     options will also work when -remove is specified. All 
  95.                     others are ignored.

  157. This dialog prompts you to insert the next XY-Query diskette. In this release 
  158. of XY-Query this is diskette number 2. You should firstly remove diskette 1 
  159. which is currently in the diskette drive and replace it with diskette 2, then 
  160. press the Continue button.

  162. You may abort installation at this point if you wish to by pressing the Cancel 
  163. button. You will then be asked if you require all files installed so far to be 
  164. removed. If you then say Yes they'll be removed. If instead you opt for Cancel 
  165. you will return to this panel, but if you opt for No your XY-Query will be left 
  166. as it was, half installed, and will probably not work unless you were 
  167. re-installing the current release of XY-Query.

  170. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. General Help for Remove XY-Query ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  173.  
  174. Use this dialog to remove XY-Query.  You will not be allowed to remove XY-Query 
  175. if it was not properly installed - for example, if your CONFIG.SYS file was not 
  176. properly set.  An error message will help you identify this problem.

  178. If you try to remove XY-Query while it is running, you will receive a warning 
  179. message asking you to confirm the removal.

  181. Current XY-Query Installation Location Shows the drive and directory where 
  182.                XY-Query is installed.

  184. Remove         Click on this to remove XY-Query. 
  185.  
  186. Cancel         Click on this to exit without removing XY-Query.
