  5.    PMRemind is a 32 bit OS/2 PM program.  It's designed for those of us who 
  6. quite often forget special days in our lives.

  41.    Installation is very simple, just run install.cmd thats included.  Install 
  42. will prompt you for all neccessary infomation.  After installation you will 
  43. most likely get a dialog box complaining about an invaid filename.  Don't 
  44. panic, this is normal until you create your datafile.  See the section Invalid 
  45. Filename for more specific information.

  52.    This program is shareware, which means, if you like this program and 
  53. continue to use this program after your generious 30 day tiral, you must 
  54. legally register your copy of the program.
  55.  
  56.    Registeration cost only $5 (US dollars).  Accepted forms of payment are 
  57. checks or money orders.  Sorry credit cards cannot be accepted.  To register 
  58. just simply fill out the file register.frm in softcopy (using a text editor), 
  59. and either e-mail it to rhasty@mail.orion.org and mail a check to the address 
  60. below, or if you don't have internet access, include a 3.5 inch disk (either HD 
  61. or LD) and include it with your check and mail both to the address below.

  63. Note:  A confirmation will be sent out (either via USPS or Internet) once the 
  64. the registeration and payment has been received.

  74. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Making a Custom Data File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  76.    In order to create a new data file just run PMRemind without any command 
  77. line parameters.  You will get a dialog box like the one below, or if you got 
  78. the Invalid filename box, please see the section on Adding entrys.
  79.  
  80.   Enter the file name in the space provided, and click the Create button.  This 
  81. will pop-up the add entry dialog.  See the section on Adding entry's for more 
  82. information on this subject.

  84. Note:  If you get this by error, just click Ok without any file name and 
  85. PMRemind will exit.
  86.  
  87. Note:  If you enter a file name, and click Ok, that file name will be used for 
  88. this time only.  (It doesn't get saved.)

  90. Note:  If you enter a file name that already exists and click Create, you will 
  91. be prompted to continue and append any entry's or abort.  If you want to remake 
  92. your data file, delete the file manually, and continue as above.  See the OS/2 
  93. Command Reference on how to delete a file, if you do not already know how.

  96. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Adding Entrys ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  98.   In order to add an entry, just fill out the dialog like the one below, and 
  99. click Add.  After you are done adding entry's, click Done.

  101. Warning: The entry in the dialog, does NOT get saved, until you click Add. 
  102. Clicking Done without adding any entry's aborts.

  104. Note:  The year goes from 1940 to the current year.  In order to enter 
  105. something prior to 1940, choose 1940 and then edit the data file manually.

  110.    PMRemind uses a very simple and highly human readable text file for its data 
  111. file.  The format is as below, but if you prefer a full set of gui interfaces 
  112. are included to help manage your data file.  See the section on PMRemind's Menu 
  113. for more information on this.

  288. The Client Area is the part of the program that the text is displayed in.

  293.   A popup menu is used to have easy access to the menu, while at the same time, 
  294. save desktop space.

  296.   They are usually poped up with the secondary mouse button or <shift>-<F!0>.

  301. If you see the dialog box below, you have a problem.
  302.  
  303. This will popup when PMRemind cannot find its data file.
  304.  
  305. Among the causes are invalid path or the file doesn't exist.
  306.  
  307. Clicking on Cancel will just abort and exit, so you can verify the path, and 
  308. make neccessary changes to the command line or the parameters box.
  309.  
  310. Clicking on Create will allow you to create a data file with whatever name was 
  311. displayed.  After you click create, you will see the Add Entrys Box, unless 
  312. something major happens (like the medium is write-protected, the path doesn't 
  313. exist, or the file is locked by another process.)
