ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Making a Custom Data File ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
In order to create a new data file just run PMRemind without any command
line parameters. You will get a dialog box like the one below, or if you got
the Invalid filename box, please see the section on Adding entrys.
Enter the file name in the space provided, and click the Create button. This
will pop-up the add entry dialog. See the section on Adding entry's for more
information on this subject.
Note: If you get this by error, just click Ok without any file name and
PMRemind will exit.
Note: If you enter a file name, and click Ok, that file name will be used for
this time only. (It doesn't get saved.)
Note: If you enter a file name that already exists and click Create, you will
be prompted to continue and append any entry's or abort. If you want to remake
your data file, delete the file manually, and continue as above. See the OS/2
Command Reference on how to delete a file, if you do not already know how.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Adding Entrys ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
In order to add an entry, just fill out the dialog like the one below, and
click Add. After you are done adding entry's, click Done.
Warning: The entry in the dialog, does NOT get saved, until you click Add.
Clicking Done without adding any entry's aborts.
Note: The year goes from 1940 to the current year. In order to enter
something prior to 1940, choose 1940 and then edit the data file manually.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. PMRemind's Data file ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
PMRemind uses a very simple and highly human readable text file for its data
file. The format is as below, but if you prefer a full set of gui interfaces
are included to help manage your data file. See the section on PMRemind's Menu
for more information on this.
DD-MM-[CC]YY Event Text
where DD is the day
MM is the month
CC is the first two digits of the year (19 default)
YY is the last two digits of the year
and Event Text is whatever text is to be displayed.
Note: There must be at least one space between the dd-mm-yy and the event text.
If you want, you are more welcome to modify the data file yourself. Any text
editor should do.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Command Line Parameters ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

a list and descriptions.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. How to contact the author ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can reach me on the Internet at
rhasty@mail.orion.org
Please take the time to tell me what you like/dislike about this program.
Also in the event you find a bug (as unlikely as it may seem <g>) please send
your bug report to the above address. Also be sure and include what to do to
reproduce the bug

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
A popup menu is used to have easy access to the menu, while at the same time,
save desktop space.
They are usually poped up with the secondary mouse button or <shift>-<F!0>.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Invalid Filename ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
If you see the dialog box below, you have a problem.
This will popup when PMRemind cannot find its data file.
Among the causes are invalid path or the file doesn't exist.
Clicking on Cancel will just abort and exit, so you can verify the path, and
make neccessary changes to the command line or the parameters box.
Clicking on Create will allow you to create a data file with whatever name was
displayed. After you click create, you will see the Add Entrys Box, unless
something major happens (like the medium is write-protected, the path doesn't
exist, or the file is locked by another process.)
Help will bring up the docs (This here) for more infomation.
