-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
v1.32 GA release
--------------------
+ Added option to export contents of one or more notes to a textfile.
- OS/2 could not properly be shutdown with version 1.31 running.
! PmNotes can now be closed using Alt-F4 key if either the main window or one
of the notes is the active window.
v1.31 bugfix release
--------------------
- Opening the "Show note" window using the hotkey (default: Ctrl-tab) was
impossible without first redefining the hotkey combination to _not_ use Ctrl.
- Fixed a bug in the main window time display.
- Closing a note from the popup menu of it's Window list entry would close
the entire program. Now, only that particular note will be closed (deleted).
v1.30 GA release
--------------------
- Deleting or showing a note from the "Show note" window would not work
correctly if the list was in reversed mode.
+ If an alarm is set for a particular note, the Alarm date and time will be
displayed in the "Show note" window now as the first line of text.
+ Holding the Ctrl-key while selecting an item from the list in the "Show note"
window will dismiss the window and show the selected note immediately.
v1.30 beta 2 release
--------------------
! "Show all notes" will now position all notes on top of Z-order.
+ Added "time-stamp" option to notes. Hit Ctrl-T to insert current date and
time at the cursor position in the active note.
! The dropdown list in the "Show note" window will now adapt it's size to fill
up the compleet window.
! Replaced the checkbox for swapping mousebutton drag actions on the main
window options notebook page by two mutually exclusive radio buttons.
! The dropdown list in the "Show note" window will now ignore empty lines. It
will show the first line containing any text in it's list. (Same thing
applies for the text shown in the windowlist.)
- If a note was set to be displayed in the window list, and afterwards the
notetext would be changed, the windowlist entry still showed the old text.
Now it will always show the text currently in the note.
- "Show in windowlist" toggle now works correctly.
- "Show all notes" option in main window menu is now disabled when there are no
notes.
- Changed handling of sizing the "Show note" window. This should fix a problem
some of you had with this window. Let me know if it doesn't.
v1.30 beta release
--------------------
+ Notes now also have a float on top option. You can toggle it on or off for a
particular note in the popup menu "Note options->Float on top".
+ Made the Show note dialog sizeable. Position and size of the window are also
saved between sessions.
+ Added option to make a note appear in the OS/2 Window List. Notes will appear
in the windowlist as: "Note - <max. first 50 characters of notetext>".
The new option "Show in windowlist" together with the "Titlebar" and
"Scrollbar" toggles are now in the "Note options" submenu of the note popup
menu.
+ Notetext is now displayed in a readonly MLE in the Show note dialog. This
enables you to select some text and copy it to the clipboard. Only the first
200 characters of the notetext are displayed here.
The copy function is provided through the popup menu (click MB2). You'll also
find the Delete note option in this menu. It will do exactly as it says, so
use with care.
+ A dropdown combobox has been added to the Show note dialog. Each item
displays the first line of text of each note. Selecting an item shows it's
text in the section below. Then hitting the Enter key or clicking Show,
brings the note to the foreground. Additionally, you can start typing the
first few words of the note you are looking for (if you remember them, of
course). Matching notetext will be displayed in the section below as you
type.
Notice that the Left and Right browse buttons are gone. You can browse
through the notes now using Up and Down cursor keys while the combobox has
focus.
+ Hold SHIFT while resizing a note to make the new size default for all newly
created notes.
+ The titlebar has become more flexible, you can now choose between four
display modes for the titlebar. (For this purpose the menuitem "Date/time"
has been renamed to "Titlebar".)
Options for text displayed in the titlebar are:
1. Show first 50 charakters of notetext in titlebar.
2. Show note creation date in titlebar.
3. Show note last modified date in titlebar.
4. Show alarm time (if set) in titlebar.
Note that if you select the creation or last modified date option while there
are existing notes, the date and time for those notes will be set to current
date and time.
! New option in main window settings to swap behaviour of Mousebutton 1 and 2.
Normally the PmNotes mainwindow had to be moved using mousebutton 1 and new
notes could be created by 'dragging' with mousebutton 2. These actions can
now be swapped to get a more 'WPS-feeling' to it.
! There are now separate menuitems for the Show/Hide all notes function instead
of a toggle.
v1.22 bugfix release
--------------------
- On some systems PmNotes would keep on trying to convince you that the date
and time entered in the Alarm dialog was not valid, even if it was.
v1.21 GA release
--------------------
! Added Cancel button to the Show note dialog and made the dialog movable.
(Position the mousepointer on an empty spot in the dialog and drag using
mouse button 2.) More changes coming up in this window in a next release due
to popular demand. :)
- Specified alarm dates would not be correctly vallidated. If an illegal date
and/or time was specified, it would be converted to a legal date/time without
notifying the user.
- Got rid of the leading zeros in the Set alarm dialog.
- Notes containing more than 200 characters would not display correctly in the
Show note dialog window.
v1.20 GA release
--------------------
+ Added an optional vertical scrollbar to the notes. Handling of scrollbars is
the same as titlebars, in the note options you can choose to create new notes
with or without a scrollbar. For individual notes, you can toggle the
scrollbar on or off from the popup menu or with Alt-S.
! PmNotes will now use date and time formatting as set in the WPS Country
object in the System setup folder instead of using country.sys info.
(Only tested on Warp 4, but AFAIK it should work on Warp 3 as well.)
! Changed handling of color and font drops on notes. Notes can now have their
own unique color and/or fonts. Just drag and drop colors and fonts from the
palettes as you are used to and they will affect only that particular note
you dropped on.
Note: Hold SHIFT while dropping to make the appearance of the part of the
note you are dropping on the default for all newly created notes.
The default note color and font will also be used in the Show note window.
+ Added snooze option to alarm function. Instead of only sound once and then
turning itself off, the alarm can be set to repeat itself (and popup the note
again) every 1-59 minutes until the alarm is un-set or the note deleted.
+ Added optional support to play a user selected wave audio file instead of the
ordinary bleep. Look at the Alarm page of the options notebook.
- Alt-drag my homepage URL from the main window didn't work anymore.
- PmNotes would randomly crash with a SYS3175 after some time when a note was
deleted.
- The Alarm dialog would not size correctly on systems using 120 dpi font
resolution.
v1.11 GA release
--------------------
- After PmNotes was shutdown and started again, hidden notes didn't 'remember'
their correct sizes. So restoring them using the Show note option resulted
in wrong sized notes.
+ Added a button "Open Mixed Color Palette" to the colors section on the main
window page in the settings notebook.
v1.10 GA release
--------------------
+ Like in the main window, you can now also display the popup menu on the
active note by hitting F10 on your keyboard.
+ Since some people like it big and others like it small, the dimensions of the
main window are configurable now in the settings notebook.
+ PmNotes now also accepts dropped URL objects on its notes. The URL address
will be inserted at current cursor position or overwrite any selected text
when the object is dropped.
+ You can drag of a note of the main window now using MB2. Optionally the main
window will change its appearance to look like a pile of notes when you move
the mouse over it.
+ Alarm function for individual notes
- After ESCaping out of the About box, it could not be opened again before
PmNotes was restarted.
v1.00 GA release
--------------------
+ Added ResetIni.cmd. This script can be of use to reset various options of
PmNotes back to default without having to delete your notes.
+ PmNotes by default now asks for a confirmation if you try to delete a note.
This can be turned of in the options notebook.
! Hide all notes option in main window popup menu will now only be enabled
if there are actually some notes to hide.
+ New notes can now optionally always be created at the same place on the
screen. (In one of the four screen corners.)
! PmNotes would force use of codepage 850 internally. This caused certain
characters that are not available in this codepage not being displayed.
Should be fixed now.
v1.00 beta 2 release
--------------------
! PmNotes now checks the OS/2 version and will not try to drag a URL object if
it is not running on Warp 4.
! On older system, the scroll in the About dialog would drive the CPU to 100%
and cause a jerky mousepointer making it difficult to register. Now, the
register button is default, so you only have to hit the Enter key. Also, when
you do this the scroll will stop.
- Polished the system wide hotkey support a bit. If you install over the
previous (beta 1) version, you'll probably have to reconfigure your hotkey
setup.
+ For the main window, active and inactive background color as well as the text
color for the date/time display are now configurable.
+ Moved the program options to a notebook.
+ Hide menu option for the main window.
- On some occasions the date header wouldn't be saved.
This should be fixed now.
- On newly created notes, if the Undo menuitem was available, selecting it
would cause the note to lose it's background color.
- Alt-H on an active note would not hide it, but it should.
+ Added an option to the main window popup-menu to hide/show all notes at once.
! Changed the URL drag operation from the main window so that the URL only is
dragged when the ALT key is depressed while dragging. This prevents
accidentaly dragging my homepage URL to your desktop. :) Also, the 'normal'
drag will get some other functionality in the future.
+ Added an an entry to the options submenu to toggle default titlebars with
date and time on or off.
! Converted the Date/time header in notes to a real titlebar. This will also
provide you with a hidebutton to hide the note and a roll-up button if you
use Stardock's Object Desktop (Pro).
You can drag and drop colors and fonts on the titlebar just like your used
to, with one exception: You have to hold down the SHIFT key while dropping
the color or font in order to keep it.
- Attempting to move a note (with MB2 depressed over the note text) while a
large chunk of text was selected, would cause a SYS3175.
! The install script now optionally places a shadow of the PmNotes program
object in your startup folder.
