  25.      address book (look on dialog address template).
  26.    - The import template PABPMDIA.FMF is a
  27.      template to import PMDiary data into PAB/2.
  28.    - Enhanced help files for better online support.
  29.    - The result of a selection may be sorted
  30.      afterwards.
  31.    - There is an additional search option on the
  32.      dialog 'addresses in letter'.
  33.    - German umlauts are now supported.

  53. 2. Quick start installation description
  54.  
  55.    The quick start installation is a step-by-step guide
  56.    to install PAB/2 onto your PC.
  57.

  59. 2.1. Check the following requirements!
  60.  
  61.      - You have installed OS/2 (Version 2.0) or higher?
  62.      X You have installed DATABASE2/2 (Version 1.0)
  63.        or higher?
  64.      - There are 5 MB of free disk space on the PAB/2
  65.        destination hard disk?
  66.      
  67.      X) Not for PAB/2 Light.
  68.    
  69.      It is not possible to install PAB/2 if not all these
  70.      requirements are met!

  73. 2.2. Program installation
  74.  
  75.      - Insert the PAB/2-diskette in drive A:.
  76.      - Call INSTALL.EXE on drive A:.
  77.      - Choose actionbar-choice "Options".
  78.      - Choose pulldown-choice "English userinterface".
  79.      - Choose actionbar-choice "Edit".
  80.      - Choose pulldown-choice "Install".
  81.      - Select the destination drive for the installation.
  82.      - Enter a valid directory name.
  83.      - Enter a new desktop folder / group name.
  84.      - Press ENTER.
  85.      - Follow the message-box instructions.
  86.      - After succesful installation (message) leave the
  87.        installation program.
  88.    !!! Please regard. Install and deinstall expect no protection
  89.        attributes for PAB/2 moduls or PAB/2 directories.

  92. 2.3. Setup the PAB/2-database

  94.      X LOGON of an user with administrator rights/authority
  95.        (i.e. USERID).
  96.      - Start PAB/2 Utilities (This program will be started
  97.        automatically at the installation process).
  98.      - Choose actionbar-choice "Options".
  99.      - Choose pulldown-choice "English user interface".
  100.      - Choose actionbar-choice "Edit".
  101.      - Choose pulldown-choice "Database".
  102.      - Choose subpulldown-choice "Install".
  103.      - Select a drive for the PAB/2-database.
  104.      - Press ENTER.
  105.      - After succesful termination (message) leave the
  106.        PAB/2 Utility program.

  110.    !!! Please regard. The PAB/2 database is installed with
  111.        copy protection. Change this with the DATABASE2/2
  112.        Configuration  Tool before you take your first backup
  113.        copy of the PAB/2 database.

  175. 4. Known problems
  176.  
  177.    Following known problems exist with PAB/2:

  180. 4.1. OS/2 vs2.00 GA Release
  181.  
  182.      - The icons are not automatically visible after installing
  183.        the PAB/2 desktop folder. They will be shown after the next
  184.        warm boot of the system.
  185.  
  186.        If you want to install the PAB/2 objects manually:
  187.        
  188.        - PAB/2                 [drive:\directory\AP___000.EXE]
  189.        - PAB/2 - Utilities     [drive:\directory\AP_DU000.EXE]
  190.        - PAB/2 - Documentation [VIEW.EXE] [ARHGR000.INF]

  192.      - The checkboxes Comment, Private and Contact-person have not
  193.        the valid background color.
  194.  
  195.      - There is a protection mechanism to avoid the start of PAB/2, while
  196.        Utilities, Installation and Update are in use at the same time.
  197.        This mechanism is out of order. Please don't start these programs
  198.        at the same time if you install a new PAB/2 database.

  201. 4.2. All OS/2 Releases
  202.  
  203.      - Due to the 16-Bit limit of the current Presentation Manager there
  204.        is a limit on the timer for the Reminders and Important Messages.
  205.        PAB/2 allows values beyond 60 seconds, but this will start working
  206.        with the next OS/2 release, that includes an internal change of
  207.        the PM to a 32-Bit design. Until GA of that OS/2 please don't enter
  208.
