  4. PrOffice Personal Addressbook/2 (PAB/2) is a network-compatible address-
  5. management-software with mailing- and holdfile-components. PAB/2 is
  6. a newly developed product for IBM OS/2(tm) version 2.0 in cooperation
  7. with IBM Database Manager from the Extended Services. It covers fully
  8. the following technical components:
  9.  
  10. o Complete multi-threaded 32-bit C-application, developed for oject-
  11.   orientated applications. For example it is possible to work with 
  12.   this application, while printing at the same time from the PAB/2
  13.   database.
  14. o All PAB/2-applications (PAB/2, Installation, User Profile Management)
  15.   are proper Workplace-Shell(WPS)-programs and multilingual.
  16.   This application supports up to five languages. The user
  17.   can change the language as many times it is required.
  18. o The user or the database administrator are able to adapt the PAB/2-mask
  19.   and -dialogues through contextmenus, to his own requirements.
  20. o The use of the mouse and toolbar gives ready access to the various menu
  21.   options.
  22. o Dynamic Data Exchange-support (DDE-support); as a DDE-server PAB/2 offers
  23.   online links to any DDE-client. This enables easy and fast data exchange
  24.   with almost every wordprocessor.
  25. o Full OS/2-clipboard-support.
  26. o Drag and Drop, with the mouse, to print and delete single components.
  27. o Highly flexible search functions with templates which can be archived for
  28.   later use. Search templates allow the use of wildcards.
  29. o Print Single-, list- and adhesive label by using various templates with
  30.   many print-styles.
  31. o Straightforward data-import and export. Simple production of mail merge
  32.   files, by the use of templates and thus allowing a smooth interphase with
  33.   word processing.
  34. o Easy installation with an independent WPS-application.
  35. o Extensive online-help with a tutorial and many sample files.
  36. o Zip-code-, bank-code- and country-directory are supplied as part of our
  37.   German package.
  38. o Private addresses can be identified and thus protected from other users.
  39. o Every PAB/2-user is able to save unlimited reminders. They pop-up
  40.   at the prearranged dates.
  41. o An integrated mailing-system allows the exchange of information between
  42.   PAB/2-users in a network environment. Confirmation of receipt is easily
  43.   supported.
  44. o PAB/2 is VIRUS-SAVE. The build-in virus-check informs the user about
  45.   unauthorized program code-change.
  46. o Easy database administration with an independent WPS-application.
  47. o Full IBM SAA (tm) Distributed Database Connection Services/2 (DDCS/2)
  48.   support through use of the IBM Database Manager.
  49. o Choose between a database manager interface. We're able to ship a 16-bit
  50.   interface for Extended Services/2 and a 32-bit interface for DATABASE/2
  51.   OS/2. The 16-bit interface can be run under both platforms.

  60. o Complete documentation-management. Documents are associated with the
  61.   corresponding addresses. Every document has an application associated
  62.   which is used to start the document for editing and viewing.
  63. o Application-management. All used applications are managed at a central
  64.   part of PAB/2. This information is used to start documents associated
  65.   with this special type of application. If the location of an application
  66.   changes, this is simply corrected with a single change in the
  67.   application-management.
  68. o Group-management. Associate already defined user within groups. User can
  69.   belong to different groups at the same time.
  70. o The MAILing part of PAB/2. which is used to send important messages
  71.   between users, is changed so that it is possible to send this messages
  72.   to groups of users as well.
  73. o The administrator is able to take over already defined user and group
  74.   definitions out of the User Profile Management.
