This package should contain the following files:
INFOBANK.EXE - The main program.
INFOBANK.INF - Help for InfoBank.EXE
INSTALL.CMD - Installation Utility
SETUP.EXE - Used to define and create the
structure that InfoBank uses.
SETUP.INF - Help for Setup.EXE
INFOBANK.INI - Sample INI-file.
WHATSNEW.TXT - News about this release.
InfoBank is a generic information retrieval system. It is meant to
be used to structure and organize all the data files that is
normally laying scattered around the hard disk. By placing the
datafiles into sections and subsections, which can easily be
defined, you can quickly build a database that suits your
particular personal needs. It can handle textfiles, OS/2 .INF files
and Windows .HLP files. With InfoBank one gets ONE tool with
which one can organize and retrieve all these types of data files.
To create WPS-objects for InfoBank and optionally copy the files
to a new location run 'Install.CMD'.
A sample 'InfoBank.INI'-file is included as an example of a simple
database definition. To use it just make sure that it is situated in
the same directory as 'Setup.EXE' and 'InfoBank.EXE'. To create the
directories defined in it then start 'SETUP.EXE' and click on the
'Build'-button in the 'Physical Directory Structure'-section.
To create a new INI file with a name different from 'InfoBank.INI'
specify the name of the INI file as parameter when running Setup.EXE
(E.g. 'Setup MyNewINI.INI'.). To then use that particular INI file
when you run InfoBank.EXE you must explicitly specify the name of
that INI file as parameter, otherwhise InfoBank.EXE defaults to
'InfoBank.INI'.
REMEMBER to back up your INI files after you are finished defining them
as they hold all information about your definitions.
And finally, be sure that you use resolution of 800x600 or higher as
the file list dialog box in InfoBank won't fit the screen in VGA mode!
