Disk Librarian
An OS/2 Presentation Manager
Disk Cataloging Program

Disk Librarian is a Presentation Manager program that makes keeping track of
files on your disks simple.
Disk Librarian maintains a simple data file that stores the name of the
disks, files on each disk and the amount of free space on each disk. With an
easy GUI interface to access the data.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. File Open ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To open an existing library file select the File menu option and then Open.
Select the library file you wish to use from the file dialog and press OK.
To create a new library file follow the steps to open an existing file except
enter the name of the new library in the entry field of the file dialog instead
of selecting an existing library.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Edit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Edit menu options offer the ability to edit your library file. For more
information on each select from the list below.

Save
Save As
Quit Edit
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.1. Edit Library ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Edit Library Opens the current library file in edit mode. You may add comments
at the end of a file listing line such as a description. Do not wrap the lines.
And Never edit or delete the first line of the file.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.2. Save ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Save Library Saves any changes you have made to the library file. and returns
to view mode.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.3. Save As ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Save Library as Saves any changes you have made to the library file, prompts
you for a new file name and returns to view mode.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.4. Quit Edit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Quit Edit Returns to view mode without saving any changes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Options ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Options menu offers the ability to Search,Add,and List your library file.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.1. Add Disk ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Add Disk Selecting this menu option will open a dialog that has an entry for a
drive and label. To change the drive select a new one from the drop down list.
The program will check the disk for a label. If one is found it will be entered
into the entry field for you. You may change the disk label in the entry field
to any valid label. While the program was developed with floppy disks in mind
you may if you wish add any drive to the library.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.2. Search Library ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Search Library Selecting this menu option will open a dialog that has an entry
for a search string. Wild cards are not needed for a search, and case is
ignored. For example to search for all files with the letters ZIP in their
names simply enter ZIP in the entry field and press OK. The program will find
all matches in the library and present them in the program including the name
of the disk they are on.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3. Show Library ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Show Library Displays the entire Library file in the listbox.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4. Show Free Space ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Show Free Space Lists available free space of every disk in the library. Very
useful for finding a disk with the right amount of space for a file you want to
copy to a floppy disk.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.5. Change Font ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Change Font Opens the WPS Font dialog. You can drop a new font on the listbox
to change the font. The change only affects the current session when the
program is restarted the default font is used.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.6. Default Drive ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Default Drive Opens a dialog that allows you to set the default drive the
program will scan when adding disks. Select the drive from the drop down list
and press Save. When you select Add Disk this is the drive that will be scanned
initially.
