*** ActionItem Copyright 1994 by
*** Alpha version 1.0 TradeWinds Software
*** Requires VROBJ.DLL vers 2.1 by: Leonard Rivers
--------------------------------------------------------------
ActionItem was done because I just needed a simple program to help me
keep track of things I needed to get done at work and at home. There's
nothing great and innovative about the app. It was written to satisfy my
needs only. However I'm very open to including new features.
Basically you enter in what you need to get done. You also enter in a
description, the date you recevied the action item, and when it's due.
Your entries are saved in an ascii file. You may print one entry or
all entries. You can also view them by their title line only. This helps
you do a quick scan of everything.
There's a checkbox titled 'Completed'. Check this once the action item
has been completed. Under the 'Extras' menu there is a 'Options' choice.
There you can choose whether you want ActionItem to delete a action item
upon completion, or store it in an archive file, or both! I did this so I can
always go back and see what I did several months ago if need be.
You can select different filenames for the archive file, so you can have
one for October and another for November etc.
Another strength of ActionItem is that you can have as many files as you
want. You can have a Personal file, a business file, or you can have a
file for every project you're involved in.
Like most hacks, I hate to document. However I promise that I'll do either
an INF or HLP file for this eventually. I will also complete an intelligent
search piece that not only finds what you want but also identifies possible
relationships to other tasks. A buddy of mine who is really into artificial
intelligence made me start that piece!
***** This is freeware!!! ******
It's not at any caliber that I'd charge for. At least not yet. I just wanted
to get something working quickly!
