ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp is a program designed to calculate the value of
various pension and annuity benefits under selected actuarial assumptions.
The program has been designed so as not to interfere with or modify in any way
the system files of OS/2 (such as OS2.INI, OS2SYS.INI, or CONFIG.SYS).
Instead, Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp builds and maintains all of its
configuration and user preference information in a local initialization file:
ACTUARY.INI.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1.1. Install Program ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The install program for Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp is a fairly
straightforward program for putting the program files into the desired
directory and creating a desktop reference icon for running the program.
The files associated with Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp are:
ACTUARY.EXE
the main executable file
ACTUARY.DLL
a dynamic link library providing functions needed by the executable
program
ACTUARY.HLP
a help file providing on-line help that can be called for context
sensitive help from anywhere in the program
ACTUARY.DAT
a data file containing miscellaneous tables and values used in the
program
ACTUARY.INI
a configuration file which maintains information about window
placement, user preferences, etc.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Install Program Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The install program for Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp is a straightforward
program for putting the program files into the desired directory and creating a
desktop reference icon for running the program.
The following fields are provided for assisting you:
Install into Directory entryfield
An entryfield where you can directly type the name of a new or
existing directory where you'd like to install Actuarial Modeler for
OS/2 Warp
Create a Desktop Icon check box
When selected, the Install Program will create an icon for Actuarial
Modeler for OS/2 Warp on your desktop (highly recommended).
After installation, you are free to move this icon to any folder that
you desire.
Available Drives radio buttons
Upon startup, the Install Program inspects you system and enables
selections for all of locally connected drives in your computer.
When one of these drives is selected, the list of available
disrectories on that drive is shown
Existing Directories listbox
This listbox shows existing directories on the selected drive.
You may choose one of these directories for installation by scrolling
to it or clicking on it.
Subdirectories may be shown by double-clicking on a directory entry,
or pressing the Enter key when a directory is highlighted.
Space Available
This field shows the free space on the the currently selected drive.
Space Required
This field shows the space required on the current drive to perform
the installation.
Install pushbutton
This button will cause the Install Program to proceed with installing
Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp into the directory shown at the top of
the dialog box.
Defaults pushbutton
This pushbutton will cause all controls to revert to their default
state when the program was started.
Cancel pushbutton
This button will exit from the Install Program without doing any
installation.
Help pushbutton
This button will provide context-sensitive help associated with the
dialog field which is currently active.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1. Help for Install into Directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the name of the directory where you want to install Actuarial Modeler for
OS/2 Warp
You can enter either the name of an existing directory, or the name of a new
directory that you want to create.
To assist you, there are controls for selecting from among available drives or
browsing/selecting from among directories on the currently selected drive.
Once you have made your entries in the dialog form, you should select the
Install pushbutton to proceed with the instalation of program files.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.2. Help for Create a Desktop Icon ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enabling this control will cause the Install Program to create a program icon
for Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp on your desktop.
This is highly recommended so that you can simply click on the icon to run the
program from the installed directory.
After the Install Program program has finished, you are free to move the icon
to any of the folders you have on your desktop or perhaps create a shadow of it
on you Launchpad
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.3. Help for Available Drives ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Upon startup, the Install Program inspects your computer for locally connected
drives.
You can choose from among the displayed drives, the drive where you'd like to
install Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp.
Below the list of available drives is shown the free space available on the
currently selected drive and the space required for installation of the
Actuarial Modeler for OS/2 Warp program.
The space required for installation may vary slightly from drive to drive
depending upon cluster sizes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.4. Help for Existing Directories ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This listbox displays the existing directories on the currently selected drive.
You may choose one of these directories for installation by scrolling to it or
clicking on it.
Subdirectories may be shown by double-clicking on a directory entry, or
pressing the Enter key when a directory is highlighted.

Selecting this button will proceed with installation of Actuarial Modeler for
OS/2 Warp to the directory shown at the top of the dialog box.

Selecting this button will cause all controls to revert to their default state
