I hope my info could help you. We had two problems - old LAN card
drivers,
and packet type setup in NET.CFG
With SMC the driver in NetWare Requester 2.11 is ok.
Make sure that the packet type for IPX is set to 8137 and that
frame Ethernet_II
is first in the list.

I think the CONFIG.SYS should be ok as from your post it seems that the

Make sure you have no etc\resolv file.
In tcpip\bin\setup.cmd (you may not have this file), remove any "arp"
command. Add:
ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1
(this configures a loopback connection).
In etc\hosts, put in this statement:
127.0.0.1 loopback localhost myhost.mydomain
This allows IP to convert any of the names specified to your loopback
address.

no faking, documented TCP/IP procedure ;-)
1. make sure you have a file named: \TCPIP\etc\hosts containing:
127.0.0.1 <your_host_name>
2. execute the following commands:
ifconfig lo 127.0.0.1
detach os2httpd

TCP/IP for OS/2 isn't very expensive. I think it's about $100. You
can try
IBM at 1-800-IBM-3OS2, or you can try Indelible Blue at 1-800-716-8284.
It
will do just what you want. If you want to wait a couple of months,
there
will be an upgrade available from the fullpack you have now to
"Warp Connect". This is a new product that adds TCP/IP as well as
a bunch of other networking goodies to the basic Warp package.

VB.EXE as MPPM.EXE only plays MPEGs with hardware available,
like for instance a ReelMagic card.
if you want to play MPEGs without that get PMMPEG30.ZIP
from hobbes, it's a DIVE software MPEG decoder
which works good.

7.0 IBM RESOURCES
Q: What IBM Resources are available on-line?
A: There are a lot of them. One resource is the OS/2 WarpFlash
newsletter distributed by Duncan Strong. Back issues are at
http://www.iceonline.com/home/duncans/warpflash.html. Of
particular interest are a long list of IBM sponsored web sites,
contained in Issue # 12, Item # 7, and a reference to an OS/2
hardware driver library, which is located at
http://www.europe.ibm.com/getdoc/psmemea/progserv/os2drivers/
(see Issue # 9, Item # 7, for more information).
(Editor's Note: Duncan's copyright prohibits their reproduction
here without including the entire Warp Flash document, most of
which consists of IBM marketing hype.)

I'm assuming from your description that you're going to have an
ethernet
to ISDN bridge in your home, thus the 3com card. If this is the case,
then
yes you can use the DCE client kit to get support for the 3com card.
What the
DCE kit is providing is the link between the tcp/ip stack in IAK and
the 3com
card.
As far as capabilities, you're on the lan for all intents and purposes
at this
point. Anything you do there, you can do at home. Also note that you'll
need
the PMX Server kit to display those X apps on your home machine.

Bob, Gary, Ian, Brian, et. al., the Post Road Mailer is anything but a
resource hog. Yet it has significant function that you won't find in
Ultimail-Lite. Making effective use of OS/2 API's, multithreading, etc.
enabled us to build this package right. Several people, in several
forums,
say they hope it loads fast. On my 66mh 486 machine it loads - because
of
multiple threads - in less than 2 seconds (Some things that you don't
need
for 3 or 4 more seconds continue to load along other threads, but my
interface is live and ready.)
As a small company in the OS/2 arena we have some simple objectives
with
the Post Road Mailer: 1) to provide the best overall email package on
the
market, now and in the future. 2) provide the best customer service
possible 3) not let our customers down, ever, to the best of our
ability. 4) We are out here in the Internet for all to see and react
to.
We have to do our best. We promise that.

Contact InnoVal@ibm.net for information about the Post Road Mailer. It
is
a perfect alternative for Ultimail-Lite.
This is a full 32-bit multithread mailer for OS/2 that ships on April
17th. It is very well designed with a good snappy interfact. The cost
is
$29.00 plus S&H ($4.00 in U.S.) until it ships. The regular price is
$59.00. Free utilities will also be providing for porting the Ultimail
address book and any Ultimail folders that you have.

Some people did not receive the FAQ's that we promised but it was not
the
fault of the software. We know for a fact that we didn't get some of
the
requests at all. We also know, now, that we lost some through human
error
at InnoVal. The Post Road Mailer maintains a traffic log of all inbound
and outbound messages. Some messages were properly received but I had
accidentally, and temporarily, set a filter reaction to "delete." About
forty-five notes were lost; about 4% of the total inbound messages
during
the past week. My apologies to anyone who did not receive FAQ's.
IN RESPONSE to this problem, and due to the sheer volumes of request
that
we are getting, we have set up a World Wide Web home page with specs,
faqs, etc. The URL is:
http://www.aescon.com/innoval/index.htm
I hopes this helps. Please note that, in part due to this problem, we
have
extended the $29.00 introductory price until April 30, 1995.

There are two questions here.
The thread subject: The Post Road Mailer is shipping. Anyone in the
U.S. or
Canada who ordered before today (4/23/95) and has not received it by
Thursday should send an email to our Post Road Mailer Customer Service
email
address: postsvc@ibm.net Please allow four or five days more for most
other
countries. Anyone who orders after today should allow two to four days
for
delivery to most locations.
The quoted question above: Check out InnoVal's home page for more
information. The URL is http:/www.aescon.com/innoval/index.htm
The product is not shareware. Until April 30th, there is an
introductory price
of $29.00 (plus $4.00 S&H). There is a full 30-day money back
guarantee.
The regular price is $59.00. Is it MIME-compliant? It sure is.
Right now, we are not supporting an evaluation copy. We had to make
some
hard choices, given all the demand for the product. We decided to focus
initial
efforts into supporting our customers. 1) We are setting up a hints,
tips, and
known problems page on our Web site along with a form for problem
reporting.
2) We will be setting up FTP downloadable maintenance releases for all
licensed customers. Hopefully, we won't need this anytime soon.
It really feels good. The whole Post Road Team here at InnoVal is
feeling
very proud of this product.
Thanks,
Dan Porter
