OSWA1217 - SYS1217 ERROR AFTER INSTALLING SERVICE PAK XR06200
02/09/96
=======================================================================
SYS1217 Error after Installing Service Pak XR06200
OS/2 2.1 and OS/2 2.11
=======================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
--------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
After applying Service Pak XR06200 and attempting to do a Selective
Install of WIN-OS/2 support, the following error message is received:
SYS1217: The file cannot be decompressed with this version
of the OS/2 UNPACK command.
RESOLUTION
The UNPACK command does not cause the problem because both the GA
version and the Service Pak version work manually. You need to copy
INSTALL.EXE from the OS/2 2.1 GA diskettes to the \OS2\INSTALL directory
after the Service Pak is installed.
1. Insert the following OS/2 2.1 GA diskette in drive A:
* Blue label: Diskette 4
* Salmon label: Diskette 3
2. At an OS/2 Window command prompt, type CD OS2\INSTALL and press
Enter.
3. Type UNPACK A:\BUNDLE /N:INSTALL.EXE and press Enter to copy
INSTALL.EXE to the hard disk.
4. Open OS/2 System.
5. Open System Setup.
6. Select Selective Install.
7. Select WIN-OS/2 Support and complete the installation.
