  10. DESCRIPTION
  11.  
  12. This document describes how to remove the OS/2 Warp 4 operating system.
  13.  
  14. RESOLUTION
  15.  
  16. Note: This document only describes how to remove the operating system.
  17.        If you have installed the Networking products, or any other OS/2
  18.        applications, these products may have their own installation
  19.        utility or removal process, which might require the OS/2 
  20.        operating  system. See the documentation associated with your
  21.        installed software before removing the operating system.
  22.  
  23. To remove the OS/2 Warp Operating System:
  24.  
  25. 1. Create Utility Diskettes:
  26.  
  27.    a. Open the OS/2 System folder.
  28.    b. Open the System Setup folder.
  29.    c. Double click on Create Utility Diskettes.
  30.    d. Follow the instructions to create four Utility Diskettes.
  31.    e. On Utility Diskette #3 (the fourth diskette) you should find the 
  32.       following file:

  34.       OSDELETE.EXE
  35.  
  36. 2. Insert the Utility Diskette 0 in Drive A:; then restart the system.
  37.    Follow the prompts to insert Utility Diskettes 1 and 2.
  38.  
  39. 3. When the OS/2 command prompt appears, insert Utility Diskette 3(the 
  40.    fourth diskette); type OSDELETE and press Enter.
  41.  
  42. 4. Read the process screens and make decisions appropriate to your 
  43.    system.
  44.  
  45. If you press the F1=HELP key you get the following screen information:
  46.  
  47. OSDELETE will remove OS/2 from the selected partition.
  48. All files and directories from the \OS2, \DELETE,
  49. \NOWHERE, \PSFONTS, \SPOOL, and \OS!2_2.0_D directories
  50. will be removed.
  51.  
  52. Nothing will be saved in these directories.  Copy
  53. all important files to another disk or directory
  54. before proceeding with OSDELETE.
