  13. DESCRIPTION
  14.  
  15. OS/2 Warp 3.0 does not recognize the SONY 31A connected to the Cardinal 
  16. DSP16 card. The Installation program requests the CD and then starts 
  17. looping and repeatedly asking for the CD.
  18.  
  19. RESOLUTION
  20.  
  21. The port address and IRQ for the CD-ROM are incorrect.
  22.  
  23. You probably downloaded the driver, SONY31A.ADD, and used the 
  24. parameters specified in the User's Guide to OS/2 Warp. By default, the 
  25. sound port address is 220h and the IRQ is 5. The CD-ROM is set for port 
  26. address 300 and IRQ 12.

  28. Use the driver that came with OS/2 Warp and modify the SONY31A.ADD 
  29. statement in the CONFIG.SYS file to read:

  31.    SONY31A.ADD /A:0 /AT:05 /P:0300 /I:12 /V

  33. Note: The port address and IRQ above should be for the CD-ROM, not the
  34.       sound card.

  36. /P: is the address of the CD-ROM; /I: is the IRQ of the CD-ROM drive; /V
  37.  is for View (shows if the CD-ROM is recognized when the driver is 
  38. loaded).
