  13. DESCRIPTION

  15. When installing OS/2 Warp from CD-ROM, the following error message 
  16. appears after the Updating System Configuration screen (x can be any 
  17. value):

  21.          A program generated an access violation at 17xx1401
  22.          OS2MM.DLL 0001:000x1401
  23.     
  24.          CS:EIP=005B:17xx1401

  29. When the starting the system with a CD-ROM, the following message 
  30. appears (x can be any value):

  41. RESOLUTION

  43. Notes:
  44.  
  45. * Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change.
  46.  
  47. * The CS:EIP parameter MUST end with 1401 or 1404 for the following
  48.   procedure to resolve the problem. Make sure this requirement is met
  49.   before continuing the procedure.

  51. In the OS2MM.DLL file, the NEC CD-ROM definition line has a double 
  52. quotation mark. The double quotation mark also might be in the 
  53. definition line for other CD-ROM models.
  54.  
  55. 1. Edit the CONFIG.SYS and remark-out (REM) the CD-ROM support
  56.    statements.
  57.  
  58. 2. Save and exit the file; then restart the system.
  59.  
  60. 3. Continue the installation.
  61.  
  62. If you need CD-ROM support after completing installation, edit the 
  63. CONFIG.SYS file again and remove the remarked-out CD-ROM statements; 
  64. then restart the system.
