OSBPIBPR - UNABLE TO SAVE PRINTER SETTINGS IN IBM WORKS
08/29/96
======================================================================
Unable to Save Printer Settings in IBM Works
======================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
--------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
At this time it is not possible to save printer settings in
IBM Works from the BonusPak; IBM Works is accessing the OS/2
desktop printer object's settings and will always reset to
default when the application is shutdown.
RESOLUTION
There are two workarounds available:
* Avoid shutting down IBM Works until a total system shutdown is
necessary, or until you no longer plan to print from IBM Works
in a particular time frame. OS/2's multitasking capabilities
allow you to have several applications running simultaneously.
* You can access the Job Properties settings from the Printer
Driver page of the OS/2 desktop printer icon. If you do not
want to change the default settings for the whole system,
create a new printer object, using the same printer output
port and printer driver, but changing the printer driver
Job Properties. Then, the only change you must make in
IBM Works is to tell it to use this new printer object.
