Accessing the IBM PCCBBS 3/15/94
USING THE IBM PCC BBS
(IBM Personal Computer Company Bulletin Board System)
Setup your communications software to dial 919-517-0001.
When you are connected the system will ask you your name and
password. If you do not have a password the system will ask
you to select one.
Select (L)ist and the system will give you a list of
directories. From this list you may select the one you need.
The list of OS/2 files are as follows:
10:OS/2 Utilities 11:OS/2 Programming
12:OS/2 Graphics & Music 13:OS/2 Entertainment
14:OS/2 Communications Files 15:OS/2 Text Files
16:OS/2 Applications 17:OS/2 Device Drivers
18:OS/2 Bulletin Board 36:ValuePoint Files
Select the one you want.
Look through the file list in the selection you made and
when you find the one you want hit (M)ark then the letter of
the file you want. If you want more (C)ontinue and (M)ark the
ones you want. If you are finished select (N)o and then
Return.
From the main menu select (D)ownload then (M)arked files
and then the letters of the marked files. Select the
download protocol you wish to use. Select Autologoff or not.
When prompted with ready to send files set your software
for the proper protocol (XMODEM should be acceptable).
If the files come with the extension of .zip you need to
unzip the files using PKUNZIP. Then you can use the file or
fist read the Read.Me that comes with file if applicable.
PKUNZIP2.EXE (OS2) or PKZIP.EXE (DOS) is available on the same
BBS and is needed for .zip files.
If you cannot connect to the PCC BBS and suspect there is a problem,
you can call the PCC BBS status line at (919) 517 0095. This is a
voice recording that is updated with the current status of the
PCC BBS.
