  1. Dualboot problems (DOS to OS2/OS2 to DOS 8/12/94

  5.         The following fax allows recovery from the inability to DUALBOOT
  6.         from DOS to OS/2 or OS/2 to DOS. This fax assumes that you did
  7.         have a complete, successful installation of both OS2 and DOS.

  10.         PROBLEM 1: Not able to DUALBOOT from OS/2 to DOS (hangs)
  11. =====================================================================

  13.         Steps to recover:
  14.  
  15.         1.- Boot to OS/2 from the hard drive.
  16.         2.- Shutdown the system
  17.         3.- Insert a DOS bootable diskette in drive a: and reboot machine.
  18.         4.- Type the following commands:
  19.  
  20.         C: <Enter>
  21.         COPY C:\CONFIG.SYS C:\OS2\SYSTEM\CONFIG.OS2 <Enter>
  22.         COPY C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT C:\OS2\SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.OS2 <Enter>
  23.         COPY C:\OS2\SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.DOS C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT <Enter>
  24.         COPY C:\OS2\SYSTEM\CONFIG.DOS C:\CONFIG.SYS <Enter>
  25.         DEL C:\OS2\SYSTEM\CONFIG.DOS <Enter>
  26.         DEL C:\OS2\SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.DOS <Enter>
  27.         RENAME C:\OS2\SYSTEM\BOOT.DOS C:\OS2\SYSTEM\TEMP <Enter>
  28.         A: <Enter>
  29.         SYS C: <Enter>     *** see note below ***

  31.         5.- Take diskette out of drive A: and reboot (cold or warm)

  34.         *** If sys.com can not be found in drive A:, copy it from your \DOS
  35.             subdirectory on the hard drive.

  43.        1.- Boot DOS from hard drive.

  45.        2.- Reboot machine using install disk and disk 1
  46.            (ESC at welcome panel to a prompt)
  47.  
  48.        4.- Type the following commands:

  51.         COPY C:\CONFIG.SYS C:\OS2\SYSTEM\CONFIG.DOS <Enter>
  52.         COPY C:\AUTOEX0EC.BAT C:\OS2\SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.DOS <Enter>
  53.         COPY C:\OS2\SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.OS2 C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT <Enter>
  54.         COPY C:\OS2\SYSTEM\CONFIG.OS2 C:\CONFIG.SYS <Enter>
  55.         DEL C:\OS2\SYSTEM\CONFIG.OS2 <Enter>
  56.         DEL C:\OS2\SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.OS2 <Enter>
