  10. 1.  After Grammatik has been installed, look for the following:
  11.    a.  In the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, PATH should include the Grammatik
  12.        directory.  For example C:\;C:\DOS;C:\WPWIN;C:\GMKW;... etc.

  14.    b.  In the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, there should be a SET statement equating
  15.        GMKW5 to the full path of the Grammatik directory
  16.        For example: SET GMKW5=C:\GMKW
  17.  
  18.    c.  In the WPC.INI file, there should be a [WPWP-3rd] section.  If this
  19.        section does not exist, create one.  This section should include a
  20.        line giving the full path of the WPWPGM5.DLL file.
  21.        For example:  GM5=C:\WPWIN\WPWPGM5.DLL
  22.  
  23.    d.  In the WIN.INI file, the [Extensions] section should include a line
  24.        referring to the Grammatik executable program file.
  25.        For example: PRF=GMKW.EXE ^.PRF (this line allows .PRF files to
  26.        associate with the Grammatik executable).
  27.  
  28.    e.  The Grammatik files should be in the directory referred to in steps
  29.        a and b above.  For example: C:\WPWIN
  30.  
  31.    f.  The WPWPGM5.DLL file should be in the directory referred to in step
  32.        c above.  For example: C:\WPWIN
  33.  
  34. 2.  Make sure that you have rebooted your computer after modifying the
  35.     AUTOEXEC.BAT file, and that you've re-entered Windows after modifying the
  36.     .INI files.  There should be some text on the editing screen before
  37.     invoking Grammatik.
  38.  
  39. 3.  If the above steps do not work, try typing in the SET and PATH statements
  40.     at a DOS prompt outside Windows.  PATH should only contain the root, DOS,
  41.     Windows, WPWin, and Grammatik directories -- e.g.
  42.                PATH C:\;C:\DOS;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WPWIN;C:\GMKW;
  43.  
  44. 4.  If typing the commands from the DOS prompt work, you might want to check
  45.     the PATH statement to make sure it's not too long (<126 bytes, a DOS
  46.     limitation).  You can also try increasing the environment space.  Insert
  47.     the command SHELL=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM /P /E:512 (or 1024) into CONFIG.SYS

  49. 5.  Also, check to see if all these files were installed in the Grammatik
  50.     directory:
  51.                  COMMDLG.DLL    GMKW.WPS       GMK.DIC
  52.                  GMK.PRF        MORPROOF.DIC   GMKHIST.OFY
  53.                  GMKW.EXE       RISHOOK.DLL    GMKW.HLP
  54.                  GMKWDUTL.EXE   README.TXT     TOUR.DOC
  55.  
  56.     NOTE:  Grammatik may not add all the correct changes if the following
  57.     conditions exist:
  58.  
  59.     1.  Installation was aborted by an error or by the customer
  60.     2.  The environment is too small
  61.     3.  Grammatik is not recognized in the path statement
  62.     4.  The .SET file is not being recognized
  63.  
  64. 6.  Try re-installing Grammatik.  Try booting vanilla before re-installing
  65.     Grammatik to make sure there are no TSRs conflicting with the
  66.     installation.
  67.  
  68. 7.  Try running Grammatik from the Grammatik icon.
  69.  
  70. 8.  Check the date of WPWin 5.2.
  71.  
  72. 9.  Check the version of Windows.
  73.  
  74. If, after all these have been tried, you still have difficulties, call WPCorp
  75. Support.  Before calling, have your license number ready, and a summary of all
  76. the things (including the above) you've tried, as well as running a MSD report
  77. run from DOS to a file so you can give the operator a full hardware/software
  78. rundown.
