Using the UNPACK command (CP 3/22/94
OS2UNPAC.FAX Using the UNPACK command
If you are needing to upload a file to your hard drive or
getting message that a file is missing:
1) The UNPACK command must reside on your hard drive
2) The UNPACK command is located on Diskette #2:
BLUE colored labels for OS/2 UNPACK.EXE
SALMON colored labels for OS/2 UNPACK2.EXE
GREEN colored labels for Os/2 for Window UNPACK2.EXE
3) If you have OS2 INSTALLED and you get a missing file
you can find the location by going into the install.log:
CD\OS2\INSTALL press ENTER
e install.log
Select OPTIONS
Select FIND and then type the name of missing file

Make sure that the UNPACK command is on your hard drive.
Put the OS/2 Diskette #X in the drive A:
The UNPACK syntax is:
UNPACK A:(Filename of bundled file) X:\(path of location) /N:
EXAMPLE: UNPACK A:\BUNDLE C:\OS2 /N:HPFS.IFS
If you want to copy a file using the CD-ROM you will need to
get to a command prompt:
1) Perform shutdown, if you're unable to shutdown, turn off
system for 30 seconds, put Installation Disk in drive A:
2) Turn on computer, or press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart system.
3) When prompted, remove Installation Disk and insert Disk 1.
4) Press ENTER..
5) When the WELCOME SCREEN is displayed, press ESC, to display
command prompt ( A: )
If you installed from CD, you will be dropped off at CD
drive in DISK_1 subdirectory, change to DISK_2 subdir.
X:\OS2SE21\DISK_2
NOTE: DISK_2 (where 2 is will become the number of diskette
needed, such as UNPACK or CHKDSK is on diskette #2)
(X: is the CD ROM drive)

UNPACK with CDROM:
It is recommended to make a diskette from the images on CD-ROM.
Instructions on how to do this procedure is in the README.INS
on the image of diskette #3 and can be view and/or printed in DOS
as well as in the OS/2 enviroment.
If you installed from CDROM, it is recommended you create the
diskette. This can be done by typing from the prompt:
<cd>:\DISKIMGS\LOADDSKF
<cd>:\DISKIMGS\OS2\<size>\DISP1.DSK A:
Where <cd> is the letter of your CDROM drive
<size> is the size of diskette
(35 for 3.5" disks, 525 for 5.25" disks).
If you are using CDROM and needing to unpack a file such as
OS2CDROM.DMD. This file is located in a bundled file
called CDROMREQ and is found on the following diskette:
BLUE labels for OS/2 Diskette #10
SALMON labels for OS/2 Diskette #12
GREEN labels for Os/2 for Windows Diskette # 5
Again, the UNPACK command is on Diskette #2 and needs to be
present on the hard drive.
EXAMPLE: UNPACK A:\CDROMREQ C:\OS2 /N:OS2CDROM.DMD
