SYSLevel change aftr inst of S3-16m drvs 6/29/94
File:SYSLVL.FAX
TITLE: THE S3-16M.DSK FILE THAT CONTAINS THE LATEST S3 DRIVER, IF
APPLIED AFTER XR06200 OR XR06300 WILL CHANGE THE SYSLEVEL
TO BE XR02110.
DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
This will not cause any problems unless you have to apply service
packages after xr06200. The installation program for the
fix packages will look for xr06200 or xr06300 but will find
xr02110 and give an "incorrect version" error.
SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
Run the executable that the s3-16m.dsk uses to update the
syslevel and manually change to either xr06200 or xr06300.
The executable is called mksyslvl.exe and is stored in the
s3inst.cmd command file.
DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
1. Open an OS2 session.
2. Type: CD os2\install <enter>
3. Put the diskette w/ the s3-16m.dsk and s3inst.cmd on it into
the a: drive.
4. Type: unpack2 a:\tools x: /n:mksyslvl.exe <enter>
5. Type: mksyslvl syslevel.os2 xr06200 <enter>
NOTE: If you are using xr06300 then use that in step 5 instead of
xr06200. The "x:" is the destination drive where OS2 is
installed.
The syslevel should now updated properly.
