  7.         Value Point systems running the S3 drivers flickers and has a
  8.         black border around the desktop.
  9.  
  10.         DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  11.  
  12.         After installing SVGA support on Value Point systems monitor
  13.         flickers and resolutions greater than 640x480x256 colors
  14.         have a 1/2 inch black border around the
  15.         desktop.

  18.         SUMMARY OF RESOLUTIONS:
  19.  
  20.         Run REFRESH.EXE and set up the system to run in the highest
  21.         re-fresh rate that the monitor can handle.
  22.  
  23.         The REFRESH program is located on the DOS CAD disk  shipped with
  24.         Value Point systems.
  25.  
  26.         DETAILS OF RESOLUTIONS:
  27.  
  28.         1. Run DSPINSTL and set system up for SVGA mode , DO NOT RE-BOOT
  29.  
  30.         2. Open a DOS full screen session
  31.  
  32.         3.  Obtain the DOS CAD diskette that was shipped with the Value
  33.             Point System
  34.  
  35.         4.   Switch  to the A: drive
  36.  
  37.              c:> A: <enter>
  38.  
  39.         5.   CD to the sub-directory named UTIL
  40.  
  41.              a:> CD UTIL <enter>
  42.  
  43.         6.   Run REFRESH.EXE
  44.  
  45.              a:\util:>REFRESH <enter>
  46.  
  47.         7.   Select the highest re-fresh rates that the monitor is
  48.              capable of (WARNING)

  50.         8.   Save changes and exit the utility
  51.  
  52.         9.   St the c:> run SVGA ON
  53.  
  54.         10.  Shut down and re-boot system
