Getting WCL0349 Errors - Apply LD10PAT.ZIP
If you are getting persistent WCL0349 errors saying NETBIOS
CONVERSATIONS HAVE BEEN LOST, apply LD10PAT.ZIP to the LAN
Distance 1.0 Server or Remote Workstation experiencing the problem.
LD10PAT.ZIP contains the fix module WCLCPSRD.DLL that corrects
this problem. See above section of this fax to find out how to get
LD10PAT.ZIP.
SYMPTOMS:
With a number of OS/2 LAN Distance Remote Workstations connected
to a LAN Distance Connection Server, all calls may suddenly drop
with the WCL0349 - "NETBIOS CONVERSATION HAS BEEN LOST" message
displayed at the remote. Subsequent attempts to redial fail with
the WCL0310 or WCL0349 messages. Only rebooting the server will
fix the problem.
BACKGROUND:
LAN Distance uses Netbios during the call establishment and
hangup phases. Under high usage conditions a memory leak can
occur, depleting LAN Distance's internal buffers. Once depleted
incorrect buffer lengths are reported to Netbios, resulting in
the reported error. This memory leak occurs only when calls drop
unexpectedly. The most likely environments for this to occur are
when noisy lines are in use, or when shutting down the Remote
Workstation with calls still connected.

LAN Distance Version 1.1 Upgrade Now Available
You can now get the LAN Distance Version 1.1 upgrade, which contains
all the fixes listed above, along with an easier one-step automatic
filtering option. Also, LAN Distance 1.1 offers a DOS/Windows client,
as well as an OS/2 client.
To get LAN Distance Version 1.1 upgrade, dial the IBM Order line at
