******
1. New ServicePaks IP07045 for LAN Server and WR07045 for NTS/2
LAN Server:
The new ServicePak IP07045 includes all of the LAN Server 3.00.1
Refresh APARS plus three more. This ServicePak is cumulative
and will apply to systems that have IP07000, IP07001, IP07003,
and IP07005 applied to them.
Note that the NTS/2 ServicePak WR07045 is required for IP07045 and
will ship automatically with OS2CSD packages and with diskette
orders.
IP07045 ServicePak can also be applied on top of the refresh 3.00.1
(syslevel: IP07040). All three of the additional APARS included in
IP07045 that were not in the 3.00.1 refresh are in the RIPL portion
of the ServicePak, so unless you are using RIPL, there should be no
reason to apply IP07045 on top of the refresh.
NTS/2:
WR07045, a separately installable ServicePak, is also available
for non-LS 3.0 users. It is a service refresh for both NTS/2 with
LAN Server 3.0 and LAPS for LAN Server 2.0. This package is
cumulative and includes all APARs in the Service Refresh 2.20.1,
plus four additional APARs: IC07130, IC07131, IC07132, and IC07133.
This package is a prerequisite for IP07045 and will ship
automatically with the OS2CSD packages and with the diskette
packages.

2. Workaround for install problem with IP07045
PROBLEM
| A problem exists for both diskette and CDROM media when
| installing the IP07045 ServicePak or the manufacturing
| refresh (LAN Server 3.0 and IP07045)
The original SYSLEVEL files on the standard LAN Server 3.0
install from diskette were correct. With the Manufacturing
refresh included and the ServicePak IP07045 installed
either from CDROM or from diskette, this installation puts
invalid SYSLEVEL files for the Requester and Server in the
IBMLAN subdirectory(and the RIPL directory, if RIPL is installed.)
SYMPTOMS
While installing IP07045 ServicePak, disk 3 is requested after
disk 1. When the system is booted after ServicePak install,
errors SYS2070, NET3062, and SYS0182 may also occur.
Verify that the problem exists on your workstation:
1. Insert disk 1 from the IP07045 ServicePak in drive a:
2. Run A:SERVICE
(A listing of Products is displayed at this point.)
3. Verify that LAN Requester and LAN Server (if Server is
installed) are listed.
4. If not, IP07045 will not install correctly.
SOLUTION
Once you have verified that the correct SYSLEVEL files are
in the IBMLAN subdirectory, then you can properly install
ServicePak IP07045.
WORKAROUND
To obtain the correct SYSLEVEL, perform one of the following
workarounds.
Workaround 1.
o Copy to a diskette SYSLEVEL.REQ and SYSLEVEL.SRV from a
system where LAN 3.0 was installed by diskettes.
o Copy these files to the IBMLAN subdirectory on the system
installed by the CDROM. (If you are using RIPL, do the same
for IBMLAN\RPL\IBMLAN )
Workaround 2.
o Download the CDROMLS.ZIP file from the FTS in Austin. Call
512-823-9538. (This ZIP file contains valid SYSLEVEL.REQ and
SYSLEVEL.SRV files from LAN Server 3.0.)
o Unzip these files using UNZIP or PKUNZIP, and copy them
to the IBMLAN subdirectory of the workstation which was
installed with CDROM. (If you are using RIPL, do the same
for IBMLAN\RPL\IBMLAN )
APAR IC07277 has been opened to address this problem.
