  20. | 1. 05/07/93  MOD TYPES ON 3270 EMULATOR WINDOWS.            |
  21. |    There are different mod types available for a 3270       |
  22. |    emulator window, to see/change the mod type do the       |
  23. |    following from the Communications Manager Main Menu:     |
  24. |    ADVANCED > CONFIGURATION > 3270 FEATURE PROFILES >       |
  25. |    Select the DLC that is being used, then select CREATE/   |
  26. |    CHANGE > Select the session that is to be be changed >   |
  27. |    Select PRESENTATION SPACE SIZE. There are 5 MODs:        |
  28. |    a. MOD 2 - 25 x 80                                       |
  29. |    b. MOD 3 - 33 x 80                                       |
  30. |    c. MOD 4 - 44 x 80                                       |
  31. |    d. MOD 5 - 28 x 132                                      |
  32. |    e. OTHER - User selects the size.                        |
  33. |                                                             |
  34. |    There are two "presentation space sizes" that are sent   |
  35. |    from the Host:                                           |
  36. |                                                             |
  37. |    a. PRIMARY size - the default that Host sends at start   |
  38. |       up time - this is ALWAYS 25 x 80.                     |
  39. |    b. ALTERNATE size - the size that the Host will change   |
  40. |       to (according to application), this size depends on   |
  41. |       which MOD type was selected for the session in the    |
  42. |       3270 Feature Profiles.                                |

  45. |    There are different font sizes available on a 3270       |
  46. |    Emulator window, to see/change the font size do the      |
  47. |    following:                                               |
  48. |    a. Use mouse to click on the upper left side box on      |
  49. |       3270 Emulator Window.                                 |
  50. |    b. Select Emulator Operations                            |
  51. |    c. Select FONT SIZE, then OK                             |
  52. |                                                             |
  53. | 3. 05/07/93  COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER WILL ALWAYS RESPECT     |
  54. |    THE FONT SIZE SELECTED BY THE USER, NOT THE WINDOW       |
  55. |    SIZE PRESENTED ON THE PRIMARY SIZE INFORMATION.          |
  56. |    a. If the 3270 Emulator does not have enough space to    |
  57. |       present the data on the mod type selected (for ALT    |
  58. |       sized information) then SCROLL BARS will be displayed |
  59. |    b. If user doesn't like the scroll bars then they will   |
  60. |       have to select a font size big enough to cover the    |
  61. |       mod type for the emulator session.                    |

  68. | 1. 05/07/93  UNDER EXTENDED SERVICES THE FIRST 3270 SESSION |
  69. |    DOES NOT REMEMBER PRIOR SETTINGS AT BOOT UP.             |
  70. |              User has at least two 3270 sessions defined.   |
  71. |              If 3270 emulator sessions are minimized and    |
  72. |              then Shutdown is performed, when the system is |
  73. |              rebooted the A session comes up with default   |
  74. |              values (not minimized), other sessions come up |
  75. |              fine.                                          |
  76. |              Apar JR06414 provided a new ACS3ECFG.DLL **    |
  77. |                                                             |
  78. | 2. 05/07/93  UNDER EXTENDED SERVICES SELECTING CLOSE FROM   |
  79. |    WINDOW LIST WILL NOT CLOSE 3270 EMULATOR SESSION.        |
  80. |              Press CTRL+ESC to bring up Window List, select |
  81. |              any emulator session, press the right mouse    |
  82. |              button, select CLOSE and the window list goes  |
  83. |              away but the emulator does not close.          |
  84. |              Apar JR06314 provided a new ACS3ECFG.DLL **    |

  86. | 3. 05/07/93  EXTENDED SERVICES LOSES 3270 EMULATOR SESSION  |
  87. |    WINDOW SIZING AND POSITIONING AFTER SHUTDOWN.            |
  88. |              3270 Emulation windows are sized and positioned|
  89. |              on desktop, then all are minimized and Shutdown|
  90. |              is performed. When the workstation is rebooted |
  91. |              the previous sizing and position of the session|
  92. |              windows is lost.                               |
  93. |              Apar JR06803 provided a new ACS3ECFG.DLL **    |
  94. |                                                             |
  95. | 4. 05/07/93  UNDER EXTENDED SERVICES THE 3270 EMULATION     |
  96. |    WINDOW IS RESTORED TO INCORRECT SIZE.                    |
  97. |              Size and position 3270 Emulator window then    |
  98. |              minimize the window to the minimized window    |
  99. |              viewer. Restore the window from the window list|
  100. |              or the minimized window viewer. The window will|
  101. |              be restored with the upper left corner of the  |
  102. |              window in its initial position, but the size   |
  103. |              will be the size of a full screen window.      |

  106. | 5. 05/07/93  UNDER EXTENDED SERVICES USING XGA SCREEN THE   |
  107. |    TITLE BAR MOVES UP WHEN MOUSE POINTER IS CLICKED ON MID  |
  108. |    SCREEN.                                                  |
  109. |              3270 emulator session is 43 x 80, and the font |
  110. |              size is 48 x 85. When session is full screen   |
  111. |              size the title bar goes to the top of the      |
  112. |              screen. If mouse is clicked anywhere in the    |
  113. |              center of the screen, the screen moves up about|
  114. |              1/3 the height of the title bar line, causing  |
  115. |              portion of it to move up out of the viewing    |
  116. |              area.                                          |
