  6. You must run QUICK SETUP from the Main Menu and select an appropriate
  7. monitor type, prior to installing the OS/2 Display Driver.

  19. Notes
  20.      a)Before installing the ATI OS/2 display drivers, you must
  21.        set your system to use the IBM supplied VGA driver. Type SETVGA from
  22.        a full screen OS/2 session to accomplish this.
  23.  
  24.      b)If the PM Desktop does not reappear after exiting from the full screen
  25.        DOS session. Pressing <Enter> brings you back to full screen.
  26.        You must reboot to get back to the PM Desktop.
  27.  
  28.      c)Check the Window List (press CTRL-ESC) to see if you have any WIN-OS/2
  29.        or DOS sessions iconized. Close them all as the OS2 device driver
  30.        install not complete successfully if a WIN-OS/2 or DOS session is running.

  32.      d)To complete the install successfully you will require the following
  33.        information:
  34.  
  35.        *The OS/2 boot drive on which the PM driver is located.
  36.        *The default ATI OS/2 driver directory is C:\MACH_OS2.

  38. After you have set the operating system to use the IBM supplied VGA driver:
  39.  
  40. 1) Open an OS/2 Window or Full Screen command prompt, insert disk #1 of the
  41.    ATI supplied utility disks.  Change to the drive containing the ATI disk
  42.    and type OS2INST.
  43.  
  44. 2) When the main selection menu appears,
  45.    a)Select Drivers Installation and press <Enter>.
  46.    b)From the Install Enhanced Drivers menu select IBM OS/2 and press <Enter>
  47.    c)Follow the on screen prompts until this portion of the installation
  48.     process complete.
  49.  
  50. 3) When the files have been successfully copied to your hard disk, open an
  51.    OS/2 session and type DSPINSTL, then press <Enter>.
  52.  
  53. 4) When the Display Driver Install panel appears, select Primary Display
  54.    and click OK to bring up the Primary Display Driver List.
  55.  
  56. 5) Select "ATI mach64 (Enhanced ....)" from the list and click OK.
  57.  
  58.    Note: Users of OS/2 version 3.0 will be presented with a Monitor
  59.    Configuration/Selection Utility.  You should "Install Using Defaults
  60.    for Monitor Type".
  61.  
  62. 6) When the source directory panel appears, select 'Change' and enter:
  63.    C:\MACH_OS2   (replace c: with your boot drive letter if you don't use c)
  64.    Click 'Set' and then 'Install'. After the files are copied, exit the OS/2
  65.    window or full screen session. Shut down and restart your system.

  67. 8) The PM driver will first come up in 640x480, 256 colors mode.  Use the
  68.    following steps to change the screen resolutions or number of colors:

  70.    a) Open 'OS/2 System' icon.
  71.    b) Open 'System Setup' icon.
  72.    c) Open 'System' icon.
  73.    b) Select the 'Screen' tab.
  74.    e) Select the desired resolution and number of colors from the list.
  75.    f) Double click on the system menu icon or select close from the system
  76.       menu to close the window.
  77.    g) Shut down and restart your system.

  79. After installing the driver,  please see README.INF for further details,

  83. 2.0     Uninstalling the OS/2 drivers
  84.  
  85. 1) Open an OS/2 window or OS/2 Full Screen icon and type:
  86.    DSPINSTL for OS/2 version 2.1 and SELECTIVE INSTALL for OS/2 Warp and
  87.    press <enter>.
  88.  
  89. 2) Select Primary Display and click OK to bring up a list of choices. Select
  90.    "Video Graphics Array (VGA) from the list.
  91.  
  92. 3) When the source directory panel appear, insert the OS/2 /Display Driver
  93.    diskette.  Select the drive and path name where the VGA driver resides
  94.    (typically A: or B:), choose Set and then choose Install.
  95.  
  96. 4) After the install is complete, shut down and restart your system.

  98. Note:  After completing step 4, OS/2 is using VGA for a display.  If you
  99.        wish to remove the mach64 files from you hard drive continue on.
  100.  
  101. 5) Restart OS/2 and open a full screen DOS session.
  102.  
  103. 6) Insert the Graphics Pro Turbo disk # 1 in the appropriate drive.  Change
  104.    directories to the floppy drive and type: INSTALL <enter>.
  105.  
  106. 7) Select Driver Installation from the Main Menu.
  107.  
  108. 8) Select IBM OS/2 from the list of applications.
  109.  
  110. 9) Select UNINSTALL OS/2 Drivers, and follow the instructions on the
  111.    screen.
