  1. README FOR CA-REALIZER 2.0b USA OS2 UPDATE

  3. Read Me Contents:
  4.  
  5.       1. Instructions to run the update batch file.
  6.       2. Control totals to verify the accuracy of the patch.
  7.       3. List of updated files.
  8.       4. List of resolved issues for CA-Realizer versions 
  9.          2.0a and 2.0b.
  10.  
  11. To apply the CA-Realizer 2.0b update, you must run a batch file from 
  12. a DOS command line. 
  13.  
  14.         -RLZPATCH.BAT updates the main CA-Realizer files.
  15.  
  16.                          ** IMPORTANT **
  17.  
  18.       The three CA-Realizer files, CABLE.DLL, CA_PRINT.DLL and
  19.       \RLZRUN20\RLZRUN20.RTS, must be located in the OS/2 
  20.       directory where they were originally installed.
  21.  
  22.       If necessary, copy the files to the OS/2 directory, do the
  23.       update, then afterwards you can put the files back.
  24.  
  25.       A DOS window must be used to apply this update.
  26.  
  27.       Back up your existing readme.txt file if you want to preserve
  28.       its contents.
  29.  
  30. APPLYING THE MAIN PATCH UPDATE
  31.  
  32. 1. Back up your existing CA-REALIZER 2.0 or 2.0a directory, the 
  33. RLZRUN20.RTS in the RLZRUN20 subdirectory of your OS/2 directory,
  34. CABLE.DLL and the CA_PRINT.DLL file in the OS/2 \DLL directory.
  35.  
  36. 2. Use the DOS CD command to change to the directory containing the 
  37. patch files.
  38.  
  39. 3. At the DOS command prompt, enter the RLZPATCH command.
  40.  (see syntax below)
  41.  
  42. The console output from the patch update is captured in a file
  43. named PATCHAPM.TXT which will be written to the patch 
  44. directory. The console output consists of messages describing 
  45. the files that were patched, and at the very end, audit totals which 
  46. should be verified with the control totals listed at the end of this 
  47. section. If unexpected problems occur there may also be error 
  48. messages recorded here.
  49.  
  50. 4. Two updated files identified in step 1 are copied back to
  51. your OS/2 directory.
  52.  
  53. Notification messages are displayed to identify which files were 
  54. copied back to their final destination, and the working copies are
  55. erased.
  56.  
  57. 5. Press Enter to display the audit totals on your console.
  58.

  75. program. (If you inserted the patch disk in drive A, this is a:.)

  77. OS2-directory is the drive letter and name of your OS/2 directory.

  162. There are no occasional memory problems when you use bitmaps and 
  163. candlestick charts.

  165. No resource leaks occur when you pass string expressions to a PROC.

  167. No abnormal application exits occur when you:

  169.      * Exceed the maximum element limit for arrays
  170.      * Clear a family contained in a procedure
  171.      * Use the Very Dense option with Fractmt.RLZ

  176. No abnormal application exit occurs when you query an empty 
  177. Scheduler using a SchedQData with no nsID identifier.

  179. A _NonMDI form with radio buttons will not have invalid lines when
  180. you resize and close the form.

  182. TabletLineTo/MoveTo commands start at the correct coordinates.

  184. The key for a ChartPie now prints where you specify using 
  185. ChartControlKey.

  187. Drop-down list boxes now drop down and allow you to select an

  190. The SheetControl(_Scroll) command is recognized when coordinates

  193. The crossed rectangle is displayed when you use _RectCross with

  208.      * FormSetObject displays monochrome bitmaps.
  209.      * ChartLine(x;_Fill,_ToPlot,n) displays color fills properly 
  210.         in the chart.
  211.      * ChartSetColor(_Data1,_ChartText) draws text in the color 
  212.         you specify.
  213.      * ChartLine uses the colors you specify using _Data2 and 
  214.         _Data3.
  215.      * Pie charts recognize the ChartControlPane(_Size) command.

  218. ENVIRONMENT

  220. In the editor, Find is fully operational and Find and Replace no 
  221. longer display extraneous characters when you enter a string that
  222. doesn't exist. Fonts do not change when you use the Confirm Each 
  223. Replace option.

  225. Watch Variables do not allow you to set null variable names.

  227. OS/2-Only Issue:
  228.  
  229.      * An icon is now displayed when the debugger is minimized.

  232. PROJECT BUILDER

  234. Applications size correctly when you make them invisible.

  236. You can disable the CTRL+C key combination used to stop an 
  237. application.

  240. FORMDEV

  242. Submenu and subitem nesting now generates correct code.

  244. Objects redraw with properly-converted dimensions when you change 
  245. the measurement unit.

  247. In FormDev, lassos are released when you click the form background.

  249. Object characteristics for 3-dimensional objects are fully 
  250. functional. When you use 3-D objects, the text matches the form

  258. Values are assigned properly when arrays have more than 17

  264. An index range is no longer corrupted when you use PRINT with the 
  265. EXP10 function.

  267. OS/2-Only Issues:

  269.      * The Encryption dialog displays the .RLE extension for files
  270.          you encrypt.
  271.      * SetDir no longer displays error messages when you specify 
  272.         a valid directory.
  273.      * The _Font parameter works with _StdFont.

  276. FILE MANAGEMENT

  278. FileImport no longer requires equal spacing between columns in 
  279. files with space-delimited text.

  281. When you export CSV files from SuperCalc or SuperProject, an EOF 
  282. marker is no longer placed in an array.

  284. FileImport allows you to create only valid variables. Otherwise, 
  285. you receive an error message.

  287. Whole numbers in Lotus files import properly, not as zeros.

  289. No random application exits occur when you use the high-level 
  290. manipulation command FileDb.

  292. OS/2-Only Issue:

  294.      * You can now open files that do not have a file extension.

  303. LogControl(_Print) specifies the same results regardless of the
