  2.     Relish(r) Desktop Time and Information Organizer
  3.     CSV Profile Information (README.CSV) for Relish 2.22

  7.     As discussed in Section 18 of the Relish User's Guide, you can import
  8.     Comma Separated Value (CSV) files into Relish.  Typically, these files
  9.     are produced by exporting information from other products.  Since the
  10.     order and use of different fields in the files will vary, you must use
  11.     a "profile" to tell Relish how to import the file.
  12.  
  13.     While it is fairly easy to create such profiles, a number of "prebuilt"
  14.     profiles for importing CSV files from specific programs are included in
  15.     the CSV directory of Disk #2.  You may copy the ones of interest to
  16.     your hard disk or use them directly off the diskette.  In each case,
  17.     both a profile file (.CSP) as well as a sample data file (.CSV) are
  18.     included.

  20.     The provided profiles should import all of your data.  However, the
  21.     first time you import, we suggest importing a small number of records.
  22.     In addition, if you leave the "Revise each note" box checked, you can
  23.     preview how the note will look (and make any desired changes to it)
  24.     before it is stored.

  26.     Listed below are the specific details of the prebuilt profiles provided
  27.     with this release.  Other profiles may be available in the future;
  28.     contact Sundial Systems for availability.

  31.     Lotus Organizer
  32.  
  33.         All of the Organizer modules except the Notepad may be easily
  34.         imported into Relish.  Profiles are provided for the Calendar,
  35.         To Do List, Address Book, and Anniversary List of Organizer.

  37.         Exported information from Version 1.x and 2.1 of Lotus Organizer
  38.         is supported by the profiles -- Version 2.0 is not due to a
  39.         problem in the way in which 2.0 generates CSV files.
  40.  
  41.         To use these profiles, just export your data from Organizer into a
  42.         CSV file using the "All fields" or "Map all" mapping.
  43.  
  44.         You may also find it useful to export the field names as the first
  45.         record.  From the Organizer Export dialog, select the Options
  46.         pushbutton and check the "Field names as first record" option if it
  47.         is not already checked.

  49.         If you use multi-line memos in Organizer, an additional option is
  50.         required.  Again, from the Organizer Export Dialog, select the
  51.         Options pushbutton and then check the item labeled "Translate
  52.         CR/LF" (Organizer 2.1) or "Change CR to CR/LF" (Organizer 1.x) if
  53.         it is not already checked.  However, if you are using Organizer 2.1,
  54.         see the CAUTION below.

  56.         To import from Organizer 1.x, use one of the following profiles:

  58.                 ORG1-ADR.CSP for the Address book section
  59.                 ORG1-ANV.CSP for the Anniversary section
  60.                 ORG1-CAL.CSP for the Calendar section
  61.                 ORG1-TDO.CSP for the To Do section
  62.  
  63.         Note that Organizer 1.x exports the alarm time on Calendar entries
  64.         in a non-standard format that cannot be imported into Relish.

  66.         To import from Organizer 2.1, use one of the following profiles:
  67.  
  68.                 ORG21ADR.CSP for the Address book section
  69.                 ORG21ANV.CSP for the Anniversary section
  70.                 ORG21CAL.CSP for the Calendar section
  71.                 ORG21TDO.CSP for the To Do section
  72.  
  73.         Note that Organizer 2.1 does not export the alarm time on Calendar
  74.         entries and thus the alarm information can't be imported into
  75.         Relish.
  76.  
  77.         Also note that the Organizer 2.1 Privacy field is in a format that
  78.         cannot be used by Relish.
  79.  
  80.         The Organizer 2.1 Confidentiality field (the first field in the
  81.         "all fields" mapping) is not generally exported correctly.  The
  82.         supplied CSV profiles take this into account, but the content of
  83.         the field is ignored.
  84.  
  85.         CAUTION: Be aware that there have been reports of other problems in
  86.         Organizer 2.1 export files.  The most common problem seems to be a
  87.         duplication of data from fields of one record into what would
  88.         otherwise be blank fields in the next record, particularly in the
  89.         case of the Address book.  Thus, it is strongly suggested that you
  90.         examine the exported CSV file for correctness before importing it
  91.         into Relish.

  93.         If your Organizer 2.1 CSV file appears to have duplicate information,
  94.         the following alternative procedure is suggested.  First, export
  95.         the information from Organizer 2.1 again, but this time uncheck the
  96.         Translate CR/LF option in the Organizer Export Options as discussed
  97.         above.  Then, reexamine the file for duplicate information.  If it
  98.         is now correct, you can import the new file into Relish provided
  99.         you "preprocess" the file using the CSVFIX.CMD command file found in
  100.         the Relish CSV directory (the directory containing the profiles).

  102.         To use CSVFIX, copy it to the directory containg your CSV file, then
  103.         type:
  104.                 CSVFIX MYFILE.CSV
  105.         where MYFILE.CSV is the name of your CSV file.

  108.     Polaris Packrat
  109.  
  110.         You can easily import your Packrat data from the Address book,
  111.         Agenda (Calendar), and To Do List into Relish.
  112.  
  113.         When exporting your Packrat data, select the "Map All" button to
  114.         map all fields to the exported file (except possibly in the case of
  115.         the Address book, see below).  For your Packrat memos and notes to
  116.         be imported correctly, you should accept the default markers for
  117.         the beginning and end of the note.

  119.         The supplied profiles are set up to retain as much information as
  120.         possible.  However, much of the data that originates in Packrat
  121.         does not have a corresponding field in Relish.  So fields such as
  122.         the "Key" fields are imported into the memo.  Depending on how you
  123.         use Packrat, you may wish to change these assignments by modifying
  124.         the supplied profiles.

  126.         To import from Packrat, use one of the following profiles:

  128.                 PACK-ADR.CSP or PACK-REL.CSP for the Address book 
  129.                 PACK-AGD.CSP for the Agenda section
  130.                 PACK-TDO.CSP for the To Do section
  131.  
  132.         In the case of the Packrat Address Book, you may not want to use
  133.         the default Map All fields when exporting.  Because Relish
  134.         processes fields in the order they were exported, the default
  135.         mapping of the Address Book will cause some of your address
  136.         information to be imported in a less-than-optimal order.  When
  137.         exporting from Packrat, we suggest the following order:

  142.                 Phone 1,

  144.                 Phone 3,
  145.                 Phone 4,
  146.                 Department (Primary),

  169.         The import profile for this order is named PACK-REL.CSP. 
  170.         The import profile for the default ordering is PACK-ADR.CSP.

  172.         Also note that, in the case of To Do items, the completed status
  173.         indicators from Packrat can not be imported into Relish since they
  174.         are in a non-standard format.

  177.     Arcadia Workplace Companion (WPC)
  178.  
  179.         Your Workplace Companion Phone Book, ToDo list, and Appointment
  180.         Book (Calendar) information can be imported into Relish.
  181.  
  182.         When you export from WPC 1.x, use the "Link All" button to select
  183.         which fields are exported.  With WPC 2.x, there are no other
  184.         export options.

  186.         Note that since the WPC phone book has more fields than the Relish
  187.         one, some of the information will be imported into the memos
  188.         attached to Relish phone book entries.

  190.         To import from WPC 1.x, use one of the following profiles:

  192.                 WPC1-APT.CSP for the Appointment book section
  193.                 WPC1-PB.CSP for the Phone book section
  194.                 WPC1-TDO.CSP for the To Do section
