  7. The following paragraphs provide update information to give you
  8. better on-line help indexing with the new IBM development tools.
  9.  
  10. 1. MOVE all .NDX files from your \SLINK2\HELPINDX (SourceLink
  11. installation directory) to a backup directory except for the files
  12. ahown below followed by "*".  You may delete
  13. these files after you have tested, to your satisfaction, the new 
  14. .NDX files and resulting access to the IBM INF Help files.
  15.  
  16. 2. Locate the following .NDX (indexing) files that were provided
  17. in the OS/2, CSet++, and OS/2 Toolkit installation and copy to
  18. your \SLINK2\HELPINDX directory.
  19.  
  20.     CMDREF.NDX      *
  21.     REXX.NDX        *
  22.     IPFC20.NDX      *
  23.     EPMKWHLP.NDX
  24.     REXXAPI.NDX     *
  25.     SOM.NDX         *
  26.     TOOLINFO.NDX
  27.     DDE4CCL.NDX
  28.     DDE4CLIB.NDX
  29.     DDE4LRM.NDX
  30.     DDE4SCL.NDX
  31.     DDE4UIL.NDX
  32.     
  33.     * Files provided in the SLINK installation to be retained.  The 
  34.     other files should be available from the installation of the 
  35.     toolkit and compiler installation.

  37. 3.  Copy the new PMMSG.NDX file supplied with this update to your  
  38. \SLINK2\HELPINDX directory.  This is a key file to index styles,
  39. messages and parameter help.

  41. 4. Check DDE4UIL.NDX to insure that the following two lines appear at
  42. the top of the file.  If not, please add the following:
  43.  
  44.    EXTENSIONS: C I SQC H CXX CPP HPP
  45.    DESCRIPTION: User Interface Class Library
  46.    
  47. 5.  Verify that the following statements appear in your CONFIG.SYS
  48. file:
  49.  
  50.    SET PMREF=PMFUN.INF+PMGPI.INF+PMHOK.INF+PMMSG.INF+PMREL.INF+PMWIN.INF+PMWKP.INF
  51.    SET PROGREF21=CPGREF1.INF+CPGREF2.INF+CPGREF3.INF

  53. 6. Make sure that all of the on-line help, INF file directory names are
  54. listed in the SET BOOKSHELF= statement in CONFIG.SYS.
  55.  
  56. 7.  One last note.  SourceLink will not engage any changes in the .NDX files
  57. located in the \SLINK2\HELPINDX directory except at application startup.
  58. After you have made changes to your .NDX files, close and reopen SourceLink
  59. to affect access to on-line help.
